My Doubts About Nipple Piercing

I had wanted to get my nipple pierced for quite a long time, because I thought it looked very feminine and pretty. As well, I had heard that it was quite an erotic piercing (no kidding!). The last reason, and probably the reason I actually went through with getting it done was because it was such a private piercing. If I didn't want anyone to see it, I just wouldn't show them. This privacy idea made me happy, because I didn't want to be limited in getting a job, because of having visible piercings. I couldn't get it done right away, however, because I first became fascinated with the idea when I was sixteen years old. Since it is against the law, I couldn't have gotten it done then even if I wanted to. I waited two years, and this year, about three months ago, the day after my birthday, I found the courage to go. I was really glad I had waited, because when I finally did get it done, I appreciated it all the more.

I was initially very afraid, but I really wanted it done anyways. I went and looked at several studios before settling on Smooth Groove. It seemed clean and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend looking at the piercing studio before actually getting your piercing done, because, I found that it really helped me get over my fear about getting a needle through my nipple.

Since I was much too afraid to go by myself, I had my roommate go with me to get it done. My piercer, Jim, looked at my nipple, sized everything up, and recommended the proper gauge for my piercing. I had a horizontal piercing done (with barbells). I agreed to let him use the gauge he wanted (I can't remember off hand what it is, but i think probably 14 g) because I felt that he knew what he was doing. He showed me all the instruments that he would be using, and kept one had on my breast at all times, and used the other to touch the equipment. This made me feel happy that I would at least be receiving a clean piercing.

Several of my friends who had the piercing done said that it either didn't hurt at all, or hurt very minimally. Unfortunately for me, this was not the case for me. I found that it hurt quite a bit, but it was only really after that I felt somewhat woozy. The sensation is kind of hard to describe (and is probably different for everyone), but for me, it first felt painful, because of the clamp, and then I felt a needle going through, and the jewelry was put in. After that, my nipple and breast felt very warm and somewhat tingly. About two minutes after I had the jewelry in, I felt as though I was going to pass out. Luckily for me, the piercer and my roommate kept me talking, so I didn't pass out. I thanked the piercer, got the cleaning/aftercare instructions, and left. My roommate then drove us both home, once I no longer felt like I was going to pass out.

For the first week or so, I couldn't wear any tight tops because it hurt too much. The pain got less every day, and after about two weeks, my nipple felt almost normal again. I was kind of afraid that my nipple would get ridiculously swollen, and it would turn purple or something, but it didn't. The swelling really wasn't that bad. It hurt much more than it looked bad. In around three days, 80-90% of the swelling was more or less gone. It bled a little bit the day I got it done, but not anything alarming. I was so proud of myself for actually going through with it. If you want this piercing, think long and hard about it, but if you are anything like me, you'll fall in love with it.

The only problem with the piercing is that it is clearly visible when I wear a bathing suit. This isn't too bad though, because, it is not my fault that they choose to look at my chest. As well, I don't swim all the time, so it's not a big issue. As I've said before, I love this piercing, and so do most guys. They find it very attractive generally.

My nipple healed up wonderfully, and I have minimal scar tissue. I couldn't be happier. I'm considering having my other nipple pierced, but I'm not sure if I want it done. I want to wait until I am absolutely sure before getting it done. The piercer did a great job, and if I do get my other nipple done, I am going to go back to Smooth Groove, because I was so happy with how the whole procedure went.
