One night, while in Key West I was sitting in my friend Kimmy's room on the floor. When all of a sudden she decides out loud "I am getting my nipples pierced." Being these are my friends it does not surprise me when Pauly my other friend says he wants to do it also. Well I figure I should get in on the groups action and say "I wanna get them done too and I know a GREAT piercer." So we all set the date up for the night after my graduation ceremony (I have a thing with ritual piercing). Fifteen was the tongue, sixteen was the labret, seventeen the eyebrow, and eighteen the septum.

I decide to go to the same guy that expertly pierced my labret the second time. In my opinion and everyone that I know that has gone to him he is a professional and qualified piercer. So after getting together my grad money we drive down to Bulldog tattoos on Las Ollas in Ft. Lauderdale beach (a clean and very reputable place). My nerves are crackling as I fill out the necessary paper work if you have ever gotten your ears pierced you know that feeling; the feeling of butterflies in your stomach that's making you giddy. Jose (piercer extraordinaire) asks "Who will be first?" Kimmy wants to be the first. After her nipples were done it was my turn to sit in the chair. Everything is prepared, we speak about placement and I decide that diagonal would be the way to go. As he is cleaning my nipples we joke about the funny noise Kimmy made (if you wanna know what types of funny noises just ask her). He picks up the wonderful shinny autoclaved needle and begins to slide the sharp needle through the flesh of my left nipple braking only to follow the needle through with a bright and shiny new hoop. I wanted barbells but he said the hoops would be best for the healing process (he's the professional).
Jose asks "Are you feeling fine." I happily answer "Yup, I'm good." He begins to slide the second needle through my now puckered right nipple when ::poof:: I am in a dream, just like that I was out for the count! I remember parts of it; something about wanting to get my nipples pierced another thing about saying Manbeef at graduation ceremony right after making my speech and other thing about having to pick up a dog toy. Awaking to realty and finding that they already have been pierced both brandishing brand new surgical stainless steal rings!
Jose looking worried as ever asks me if I was ok. Me feeling a bit woozy replying sure that I was ok I just felt a little dizzy. Before I know it I have a soda pop in my hand and have already chomped down two pixie stix. He lets me know that I had passed out right while he was putting the jewelry through. He said he had never had anyone pass out on him like that. It seems that I had just let my head drop off to one side. He honestly thought I was joking with him until I didn't answer him. While the sugar was working through my blood he had me put my head between my legs so I would be able to regain my equilibrium. After much prompting and answering of questions Jose finally lets me stand up on my own.
"Pauly, you're up next." I say with a smile. Well since that day it has been a month, my nipples are doing great they were sore for about two weeks after the initial piercing, and of course whenever I accidentally hit them on things (watch out for the elusive door frame ladies and gents). They still get a bit crusty but clean hands and warm water fixes that. The only problem that I had with them was that I was washing them to much. For me to much was twice a day, so listen to your body and your piercer they know what's best for your healing piercing and if your piercing gets infected it's better to remove it than let it form a keloid.
Well that is my experience with me going below the neck. My new phrase is "I will not go below the belt!" we will just have to see how that one will work out, just look it my nipples! All in all my nipples have severed me well and I am soon looking forward to piercing them each one more time.
