Oh the nipples. What a wonderful spot on the female anatomy. So much better than what you might find on any man. I don't care who he is or how cute his nipples may be; they will never top what you'll find on most women.

After about a month of deliberation and coaxing from a cute coworker, I decided one Monday afternoon to go down to my shop of choice, Bound by Design on Colfax Ave. in Denver, and just ask questions.

Charlie, the wonderful piercer who corrected my horrible tongue piercing, was working the counter and was extremely helpful in answering all my questions about nipple getting a piercing. Not that I had many. I of course did my homework on such things before even thinking about getting it done.

She told me who was working as piercer that afternoon and introduced me to Q. Since I didn't think I could have a woman (no offense to Charlie) mark my nipples let alone pierce them for the fear of being really self-conscious about it (hey, I'm weird that way). She told me that if she was going to have hers done again for the first time, she'd have Q do the job because he's excellent.

I decided to think about it for a few minutes. Was I really going to be crazy and get it done, or was I going to be conservative and go home piercing less?

Since Bound by Design only takes cash (power to them) I had to walk down the street to get the needed cash from an ATM because I'm a 90's woman and I only carry credit. This also gave me a few more minutes to think about what I was going to do. It was time for me to question my sanity. After about 15 minutes of deliberation (the time it took for me to walk to the ATM and pass my car on the way back) I was able to decide that I wasn't insane and that yes I really did want this piercing.

I have really insensitive nipples, meaning the only pleasure I get from nipple stimulation in foreplay is when they're bitten. Not nibbled, but bitten. I went back into the shop hoping this would help with the situation. I'd read and heard from a few people that in some cases, it really did help.

So positive attitude in check, I made my way back into the shop, laid my money on the counter and said that yes, I was going to have it done. I handed over my drivers license, which was photocopied onto my release form. As she handed me the form for my signatures, she explained that a release form was needed in case any thing that I had pierced decided to turn black and fall off. She was of course kidding.

She took my jewelry back into the piercing booth and placed it in the autoclave for sterilization.

After waiting a little impatiently for the twenty minutes it took for the sterilization process to occur, I was called back into the 'room.' I shut the door behind me and started to undress my top without having to be asked. I basically figured I'd make it easier on me and easier on him. I think he seemed a little more nervous at first than I did.

Imagine, each day you go to work, there's a possibility of seeing someone's coveted parts. Some people might think this is cool, I know that it would make me feel a little awkward at first.

Anyways, I stood before him, topless and he looked over my chest and at my nipples to decide proper placement of his markings. With the day being a little hot, and my nipples a little uncooperative (or cooperative from their point of view so to speak) he had to play with them to make them hard enough to ensure proper placement. Not only do you want your piercing to look good when they're 'at ease,' you also want to make sure that they're going to look good when they're erect. Otherwise, you've lost the effect that they were meant to have on other people.

So, I'm guessing it took a good 10 minutes for my nipples to get marked. He had to mark and clean and remark and then clean again only to remark once more. Well, when he was satisfied, I checked in the mirror to see if I was satisfied with the placement. I agreed because the guy is a genius with piercing (or so I'd heard and later found out).

I laid on the very comfortable piercing table and relaxed. That did take a few minutes of coaxing from Q to do, but it did happen. He asked me which 'girl' was going to get pierced first and I choose the left, only because the right half of my body is more heavily pierced than my left. I thought I'd let it in on some of the fun. That and the second piercing was supposedly going to hurt more than the first and my right side is more tolerant than my left side.

He clamped the left nipple, told me to breathe in and when I did, he pierced me. I exhaled while he expertly put my jewelry in. Then it was on to the right nipple. I breathed in and he pierced me, and he was right. The second piercing hurt more than the first. I 'd hardly felt the left piercing at all, but the right felt like my nipple was being ripped open. I exhaled and again he expertly put the jewelry in.

He told me that I'd had one of the nicest sets boobs that he'd ever seen and that I needed to take good care of them for the benefit of mankind, which I thought was really sweet.

I am absolutely in love with my nipple piercings. It did take them longer than I thought it would to heal, but they're now completely fine and wonderful. I still clean them once a day with an antibacterial soap and twice a day with Bactine even though they have healed. I feel that it's better to ward off infection, even though you make think the piercing is fine.
