I had spent absolutely ages considering this piercing, probably about a year in total, but I would go through phases of wanting it done, and then just not thinking about it. And then I woke up half naked round a friends house early one morning, and was up much earlier than everyone else. I was left with just my own company for about 4 hours while everyone else slept off their hangover, and began to think about stuff, and just decided that it was time I stopped thinking and put it into action. I spoke to three mates about getting it done, one was highly supportive and made me promise to show him if I did get it done, another was like, yeah it'd be cool, but I wouldn't have the guts, and the last one just said that he knew a guy that screamed when he had it done.
At A Glance Author Jenny Contact Jenny@bme.anon Artist Cute guy, blonde hair Studio Cambridge Piercing Studio Location Cambridge, UK That was Thursday. That eveing I looked up some places on the internet, and found Cambridge Piercing Studio. It sounded nice, but didn't convince me. There were a few other local places, and I didn't like the idea of going to London or something and then coming back alone possibly in pain and swollen, and of course that would mean more temptation to spend more money than I had!
But i kept going back, and thinking about it more seriously. I left my old job on the Sunday, and as no-one else bought me one, I thought f*ck it, I'll treat myself. So on Monday I told my mate in chemistry that I was considering going, JUST TO LOOK AT PRICES! She was a bit Hmmm, and wasn't convinced, but at lunchtime I started to walk down. I managed to walk past it, and then found it on the way back.
I walk in, and it had a really nice feel to it. It had a real atmosphere to it, and the people were nice, and knowledgeable. I filled out the form, and was lead to the back by the cute young guy. I was very surprised to not find a dodgy old guy with a huge grey beard sitting there, but that he started to prepare the stuff. I don't know why the misconception, but this was my first piercing other than my ears.
I had decided to just get my left one done. this was because I did not like the look of both being done, and also because my left one was very slightly inverted, and I figured that this would sort it out.
Although the place did not look like an operating theatre, working in a hospital you can kind of tell when somewhere is clean! And I trusted the guy enough to pierce me!
I did feel kind of awkward. I was told to "get it out" which did not feel crude at all, and he turned round to out put gloves on. At first I got one out, but then felt really prudish, so got both out. Felt really quite advanced then, so by the time he turned round the second one was just kind of half out!
I layed down and daren't look at the needle or anything, call me a wimp. I was quite suprised that he said it was done as I hadn't felt any pain what-so-ever! He told me about aftercare, gave me a sheet, and asked me if I had any questions. He gave me a cotton wool pad to put down my bra, and told me that a little blood was normal.
I left on a complete high, and managed to get back to college by the end of lunch after texting a few friends to tell them, and got back and was just jumping about and had to tell someone. NO pain at all at the time or after, and parents still don't know!
Success! Most other people have found out somehow, and to be told by my chemistry teacher that it is quite famous through college was a BIT of a shock, but never mind! I love it, and SO glad I got it done!
Oh yeah, and its a good excuse to get yer tits out at parties, and also a good way to blag drinks off curious guys!! The whole, buy us a beer and I'll show ya my piercing... works a treat.
Good luck, and happy piercing. I now know why its always described as addictive! I now really wanna get my tongue pierced, ideally venoms except my tongue has the wrong artery arrangement for that however:( But I will try to get something original on my tongue... any suggestions?
I know there were loads of things I wanted to know before hand, but wasn't answered by anything I could find.. If u wanna know anything you think I can help with, feel free to ask!
But what I do recommend is reading as much as you can. Not only experiences, but try to read some medical stuff, and some horror stories. Just so that you can then make an informed decision, and I found it put my mind at rest! But then everyone is individual, and what is good for one person may not be good for another!
Have fun!
