I had been thinking of getting my nipples pierced for quite a long time before I actually had them done. One of the reasons why I waited that long was that I was not 18 and knew I would never be able to make my parents sign the agreement.

I was a bit surprised that they did not want to check my ID because on the whole the shop is really quite good. So I decided to get my nipples pierced a few days later.
I skipped my horrible afternoon sport course and went to the studio. I wanted to get both my nipples pierced, I just think its more aesthetic if things are symmetrical . After telling Paul who would pierce me what I wanted he talked to me about the procedure and the possible risks. The studio was very clean and everything was packed single and sterile and I think Paul changed his gloves at least four times during the whole procedure.
We went into a separate room where I took off my clothes and then Paul marked the points where he would pierce me. He let me check them and they were just fine. I lay down and he first did my right nipple. He clamped it which really felt okay and then came the needle. It really hurt. I did not think it would hurt that much, I just did not expect it to hurt because I usually think that being hurt from the outside can hardly be as bad as having a really bad headache or some other pain which comes from the inside. Of course there is a big difference between being pierced and having a headache but I also remembered how I felt when I had my industrial done and the slight pinch I experienced then was nothing against the sharp stinging pain I felt when the needle went trough my first nipple.
Then he inserted the 14ga CBR which still hurt but was not as bad as when the actual piercing was done . He asked me if I was fine and ready for the second part and I told him I was although this time I was really nervous because I knew it would hurt and of course the pain was even worse because I could not relax at all. So after he had clamped and pierced me and inserted the jewellery he cleaned the area because I had bled a bit. Then I got up very slowly but although I still felt a stinging pain in my nipples I felt fine. I went to the mirror and had a look at my new piercings which looked really lovely. I got dressed and put some pads under my bra just in case the bleeding would start again.
I paid 140 DM which is about $ 65 and he gave me a sheet with aftercare instructions and told me to come around if I had any questions or problems. I actually did not follow all of the instructions like applying the Thyrosur cream because I did not think it was necessary and I know that my body handles wounds or piercings best if I just leave them alone and do salt water soaks once or twice a day.
My way home was awful because I went by bike and it was January and very cold and although I was dressed warmly I could feel the metal in my nipples getting really cold which was not a very pleasant feeling as my nipples were still aching.
The pain lasted a few days but was not that bad after all.
My nipples healed very well and I did not have any problems with them except for the fact that my mother found out about the piercings and got really mad which really disappointed me because I never thought she would be that intolerant. So I stayed at a friends house for a few nights until she apologized for her behaviour and after that everything was okay. She is a nurse and now and then she still tries to tell me some stupid stories about breasts being destroyed by piercings because of infections and so on which is annoying but its no problem if you just stop listening.
I really love my nipple piercings. They are beautiful and I am amazed how quick I got used to them. Every time I take out the jewellery to change it I feel like something or actually a part of my body is missing.
Even though I complained a lot about the pain I had in the beginning I would definitely do it again. In the end it really was not that bad and the little bit of pain you experience is nothing against the joy you will have with your piercing.
