It all started on a Saturday I believe. I was sitting around my house with a friend, you know, just being lazy and shit. My girlfriend called and said she wanted her navel pierced and we talked about that for a little while...to make a long story short, I really wasn't into it, but it was her body and I couldn't tell her not to do it. I had just gotten this tattoo on my stomach of some tribal shit just off center by about 4 inches at the belly button level on the right side, and was regretting it a little. So that night 4 of us went to Deep Ellum in Dallas, where we live, so she could get her belly button done. I was being kind of an asshole about it, but was open to it too. She blacked out when she got it done...anyway. A few days later, she reminded me of a bet we had a couple of weeks earlier that we made totally as a joke. If she got her belly button pierced I would get my nipple pierced. She called me on it, so I had to do it. Piercing was no big deal to me because it comes out, unlike a tattoo. It was tuesday, and I got some guy friends together to see who would do it with me, not a single person agreed to do it! A friend drove me down there, cause I had a few drinks (which I did not take to ease the pain) I did it and it hurt a little. end of story.

Process:

1. You really do have to make sure the place you go is safe and clean, because not everybody out there really gives a damn about you. Infection is bad.

2. After I picked out the jewelry, I went back in the piercing room to get it done, where the guy put on sterile surgical gloves (not all of them use sterile gloves, and I am a med student and let me tell you that that is a definite plus)

3. He took all of the stuff out of packages, and drenched them in alcohol and some other antiseptic.

4. I took off my shirt and he asked which nipple...I said left, it seemed obvious to me, but apparently some people get the right...,whatever you want to do.

5. He marked the spot making sure it was close to the areola, because most of the nerve endings are in the tip of the nipple.

6. The needle came out and he clamped the nipple, not hard, just enought to hold it still.

7. Pushed it through one side, adjusted his equipment, and pushed it through the other side (Note that all of his equipment was in autoklav bags)

8. After that, it burned a little, but it wasn't too bad, I don't remember much pain, it bled a little bit, which is a good thing to keep infection out.

9. he put the ball on and a bandage and I went to my girlfriends house...simple as that.

Keep it clean! I got a small infection that I self medicated. TO be honest, if you get infected the best thing to do it put some salt in a shot glass with warm water and put it over your nipple for a bout 10 minutes every night. along with some neosporin, and you will be fine. make sure to clean it every day, at least twice with anti-bacterial soap, that too will help while infected. If it gets real bad, see a doctor BEFORE you take it out, you can do some real damge to the nipple otherwise. Make sure the pierce is not too close to the areola, or the needle will scrape it that hurt (he did that to me thus causing the infection) I took it out 6 months after I got it and about to get it again...I liked it, it just got infected and hurt too much to deal with...

About a month after I got it done, I convinced a friend of mine who is a girl to get it done. Let me tell you something, that was definitly fun. She wanted me to go with her to hold her hand. ( my girlfriend and I broke up before this) She had the best and most beautiful breasts I had ever seen and she showed them too me to see if a ring would look good. I said YES!
