Well. I was reading the various nipple piercing experiences on this page and i decided to submit mine. I am a nineteen year old college student who does not look like the piercing type, I wish I could but my parents would disown me as their daughter. Last year for my eighteenth birthday I got my tongue pierced, from then on I have been addicted to piercing and tattooing. I got my first tattoo this summer of a Japanese symbol and i can't wait to get another. But thats besides the point, I'm supposed to tell you about my nipple story.

Ok, so about a month ago I had been toying with the idea of getting something else pierced, but I am still kind of averse to facial piercings because the 'rents flipped when i got just my tongue pierced and i couldn't imagine what they would do if i came home with a nose ring or something. So my friend on my floor in my dorm told me to get my nipple pierced, and i was like 'are you crazy?' and she said she was getting hers done. So i pondered it and researched it and finally made an appointment last week. The piercers recommended i get both done in the same visit because most people who get one get the other done later, plus, they offered a reduced price on the second nipple, so i aggreed to do both, when i got off the phone i thought i was nuts and almost called back to cancel. But I didn't.

Finally the day rolled around and I was sooooo nervous and kicked myself for making an appointment for so late in the day, but i brought my friends with me and kept asking them if i should do it, and they were practically yelling at me to do it. So we got in the studio, an excellent place, clean and tons of certificates on the wall,as well as results from the autoclave tests. All of the piercers and assistants had all had first aid, CPR and OSHA training, but i had already known that since thats where i got my tongue pierced. I wouldn't trust many other piercers, and i always recommend Tribal Ways to anyone.

I can't remember much about before the piercing because i was so nervous, but they explained the procedure showed me some sample jewelry as mine were back in the autoclave, and explained aftercare. Then i was brought back into the room and was told to take off my shirt and bra and give them to my friend who was standing in the corner in the viewer area, she wasn't allowed near me for cleanliness reasons. So there I was half naked and getting washed with antibacterial soap with a final alcohol rinse, then I waited for the piercer to come in. He was very nice and I was glad that he was the same one that pierced my tongue. He measured me for jewelry and told the assistant to get the 3/4" diameter 14 gauge surgical steel captive bead rings. then he drew the marks on my nipples and told me to relax.

I sat back and he clamped my left nipple, he put the cork in place and opened a brand new needle. He told me to breath normally and then take in four deep breaths, and on the forth one he drove the needle through. the feeling was so intense, it sent a blaze of fire down my body but it was over in a few seconds, he fit the jewelry in and prepared the other nipple, got another needle, pushed through the second nipple and the same rush jolted through my body. After the jewelry was fitted I was done and he cleaned me up and told me that i should were sports bras for the first few weeks and avoid underwire at all costs, but the assistant showed me a neat little trick to do if i need to wear underwire. She explained that underwire pushes on the ring in the wrong way and can encourage it to walk out of the hole.

So I went home and chilled out. I now shower twice a day cleaning the ring and turning it through the hole using ivory liquid soap. I soak them three times a day in salt water and apply bactine after each soak. The pain is starting to go away and i am so happy that i got both done, they look so cool and i can tell already that they have made my nipples much more sensitive.

I recommend anyone who wants to get it done to get both done, believe me you'll want them both. And also check the places out. Demand to see the washing areas, the autoclave spore tests and individual needles, ask them how they clean their clamps (these are porous and can't be put in an autoclave), and check for single use gloves. Ask if the employees have CPR, first aid, and OSHA training, if they don't, then leave and find a place that does, if they get uncomfortable about your questions then leave as well.
