Mmmkay, so of course like every typical mom saying to pierce something is " No ". I thought my mom would be different, after all, she told me it was my body and I could do whatever I wanted with it. So I got up the courage to ask her to get my navel pierced. Of course as I expected, the answer was a no. So I took matters into my own hands. I ran around the house looking for needle and body jewelry but with my luck, I found none. The night before I was planning on piercing my tongue when my best friend told me she'd sign the sheets in January for me. Last night, I had made a homemade barbell for my tongue. Tools included were: 2 sewing pins, 1 needle, and nail clippers. I was sitting on the computer this morning looking for ideas to pierce my hand, and I stumbled across the " Do-it-yourself" navel piercing. I was so excited I learned how to do it that I called Tina up and told her we were piercing my navel on Sunday. She was so excited she'd get to help me. Well, I got up at 6am because I was too excited to s leep. We were piercing the top of my navel so I decided I'd pierce the bottom part. Well, put the homemade barbell, and a needle in a pot of boiling water for a good two hours or so. I was so excited I came on the computer and was looking for pictures. My mom had just left for going out of town and my dad was out shooting like usual on the days he doesn't work. I got the crazy idea in my head to pierce my navel. I sat in the computer chair and I was all ready to pierce it. I cleaned the piercing area, and took the needle ready to stab it in, when the phone rang. Urgh, just my luck. I got off the phone and was so excited that I just stabbed the through. I pushed so hard, the needle was coming out the other end of my skin, but as luck would have it, the needle wouldn't budge. I sat in the chair for a few minutes waiting to get the feeling back in my thumb from pushing so hard. Moments later I decided to put again, I pushed so hard it went through and was just touching the skin for the top of my navel.

So yesh, I do not regret doing this piercing, although when Tina gets here we'll have to do the top of my navel, which the bottom half will still be swollen, but hay I can live with pain. Haha, but as soon as I got the barbell in my dad pulled into the driveway and raced into the house, I was so scared I threw my shirt over my belly, not knowing that it would hurt like a *****. It's been a good, I'd say two hours now. My parents sure will not find out about this piercing until school starts.

I recommend to all you girls, who want to do your navel yourself, I sure hope you think twice before you do it. You can risk serious infection. My best friend Stephanie did hers herself and then decided to go swimming, the infected when all the way through her body. I suggest you do not go swimming until 'tis is healed. Also, people who think that if you do it quick, it won't be painful well, think again because the quicker you do it, other then getting it professionally done, the more you risk of screwing up. I'd say get it professionally done, but I do recommend if you are doing it yourself, do nice and slow so you don't mess it up. I guarantee you it'll turn out nicer then you think if you go slowly.

Id' say my piercing is doing fine, the swelling has gone done a huge amount. I owe all my thanks to all the people who have piercing their navels their selves, and I couldn't have done it all without all the information I got from all the people who asked questions about it. I don't owe you a great thanks, but yeah. I thought I'd make this thing.. A little more thoughtful to the people who've asked those questions. But yeah, just to spice this up a bit. I thought I'd tell you how to make a homemade navel ring. You take the needle and cut it in half by bending it and stick a ball of one pin on the end that was bent off, and then one on the end with the needle part. I highly suggest that if you plan on making one, that you'll think about why you want it. Well, peace it.
