I was in Listowel one day shopping when it just came to me well actually I had wanted my belly button pierced for awhile but never thought I was going to get it any time soon, main reason being that I thought it would cost too much and I was afraid of the ring rejecting, migrating, becoming morbidly infected and so on and so forth. But against all of that I was going to get my navel done. I also thought that I would feel better about myself if I had this done so it was then decided in a few seconds that I was going to have my plain navel pierced. I knew of a studio not far from where I was shopping and decided to go down and give it a try or at least make an appointment to have it done later.

So I walked into WearWolf Skin Designs and told them what I wanted. Lobo the piercer said that would be fine and to give him a few minutes while he got things ready. I was amazed no waiting, no nail biting nerves to come out of nowhere and scare my away. I was ecstatic

I was not asked for ID or told to sign any forms, but the place was very clean and is health board inspected so I trusted them. Also the studio is walk in's only so I didn't need an appointment which I thought was great. And no one was ahead of me so I did not have to wait long. Just long enough for him to clean and sterilize everything.

Once everything was clean and ready for I was lead into a room decorated with posters of tattoos that he had done and a TV playing indiana jones the temple of doom nice movie to be on when you are just about to get pierced ain't it?

I was told to lift up my shirt, so my navel could be marked with a purple felt pen, the clamps were put on next which did not hurt an awful lot I think it actually helped to numb the area. I was told to lie down and relax. I wasn't really nervous which is kind of odd, so he changed his gloves again and got ready to pierce me.

I felt the needle go through and that was it I didn't even feel him put the ring in. As soon as he was done I got up and looked in the mirror it was beautiful. I paid him the $25 plus tip and went home.It hurt to bend over for the first three days or to even exercise, and no tummy sleeping which sucked but I've since learned to adapt.

I was told I could come back in four to six weeks if I wanted to change the ring for something else. I was told to use Bactine to clean it. This is a big no no,I used the bactine for about a week and when it still looked icky I went on the web to find something else to clean it with.

After care was sea salt soaks and Spectro jel twice a day. My boyfriend was surprised that I actually went and got it done with no one to go with him, but he likes it, so no complaints here.

Two months after I had it, I noticed that it was leaning towards the left because of my apron that I wear at work was consitly keeping the ring down. I didn't want crooked so I went back to the studio and had it changed. The ring to a barbell and it was fine no more crookedness but it did puss for two weeks after not alot just if you squeezed it, so I just made sure I kept it dry didn't over clean which can be just as harmful as not cleaning it, and it started to clear up and look like a fine navel. Three months later and it looks good it still can be tender if I get it caught on something or something hits my navel hard.

I am very happy with my navel, so if you want it done go ahead and do it. WearWolf Designs is a great place to go if you want something pierced they are clean, and friendly, I would not advise to follow their after care though. Also Never pick at the crusty's on your navel espcealy with dirty hands, a co-worker got her navel piereced before me and she was always picking at it with dirty hands and was using bactine to clean it, needless to say it did not heal for a long time, and her's has become crooked due to her tucking her shirt in all the time and not noticing that it was crooked.
