It all started last week when my family and some friends of that family all went up to New York like we do every year for vacation. On July5th we decided to go up to Kingston Ontario for a day just like we did last year. My friend Heather came along this year and her and I were walking around Kingston and we spotted a piercing studio. We didn't think much of it then so we just kept walking then we ran into my cousin and his girlfriend Tanya. Tanya already had hers done and wanted to get a barbell put in and when Heather and I mentioned we saw a piercing studio Tanya wanted to go get a barbell. So that's what we did. Tanya, Heather and I walked down to this piercing place. It was sort of back between 2 buildings but as soon as we walked in it looked really clean. The place was called Black star. When we walked in the lady asked if she could help us and Heather asked how old we had to be to get a piercing without a parent because Heather wanted her helix pierced. The women sai d you had to be 18 so we were screwed, but Tanya is 19 so she could at least get her ring changed. After talking to the women for awhile she said "you girls aren't from Canada are you?" and we said "no, were from the US" and she goes "OH well in that case since your not from Canada it doesn't matter your age" so Heather was like "Awesome" and I still had no intention of getting a piercing.

So they measured Tanya's hole and got her barbell put in. Then Heather picked out her ball she wanted on her hoop and she picked a grayish colored ball. Then heather said "Lindsay you're never going to have the chance to do this again without your parents" so... I did it!
I had to pick out a ball, baby blue, and the women handed all the stuff to the guy who would be piercing me then I had to tell the women my name, address Etc. Then I just had to sign this paper and pay, $41.00, and I was now ready. Heather then got her Helix done and it was my turn. So they guy told me to sit down in the chair and I had to pee so bad at this point and I kept saying that to the guy because he kept pushing on my bellybutton. Then he told me to stand up and he dotted the place he thought looked good and told me to sit back down. Then he said "I'm going to put the clamp on then the freezing stuff then the needle" and I was like "Alright." so he put the clamp on, everyone I know says that hurts but it didn't then he sprayed the freezing stuff on. It was really cold and it felt like my skin was getting tight then I felt a little tugging and he was done and I hardly felt a thing. I stood up and looked at it in the mirror while Tanya and Heather took pictures.
We then walked down to the bar where my mom, her boyfriend, and everyone else was and we all had the biggest grins on our faces. I lifted up my shirt and my mom just started laughing and her boyfriend was in complete shock because I don't have my ears pierced, I don't think I'd look right with my ears pierced, well anyways they weren't mad or anything just in shock as well as all my friends were when I told them.
The guy told me to clean my piercing with good soap like that Soft Soap stuff that has a Glycerin in. After cleaning it I apply Neosporin and floss the ring once more but making sure to wipe off excess because it can collect dirt and then get my piercing infected. After 5 days I could clean once a day instead on twice a day then after 10 days I didn't need to clean it anymore and I'm to leave it alone. I think getting this piercing has been one of the best things I've ever done and I will always remember that vacation when I look at my new 16G Silver Hoop with a baby blue ball.I still cant believe I got it done but Im so happy I did it now!
