Ok i will start the story first by telling you that i went to a military school in high school and we could not have even two holes in our ears and especially no belly rings or anything else. Well enough with that. Here is my story...
At A Glance Author Allison Contact Allison@bme.anon Artist I am not sure Studio Bluz Tattooz Location Milledgeville Georgia I wanted a belly ring because i thought that they looked awsome and all of my friends had one. Do not think that i was pressured by anyone because i wasn't. I thought they looked cute and i wanted one so bad. Back to my story...
I was begging my mom to let me get a belly ring for the longest time (about a year, I was only 17 at the time ). She finally said that i could get one but only if i payed for it. I said "ok"
It was Christmas Eve and I had finally talked my mom into letting me get a belly ring. Well everything went on as planned for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I knew that i was going to be in town the day after Christmas (I live about 15 or 20 minutes away from the studio) so i had talked my mom into taking me up to "Bluz Tattooz". They were closed and would not be open again until the next day. So i went to my aunt's house and took her fake christmas tree down.
The next day finally came and i was so nervous about getting it done that i tought about backing out. I knew that the piercing place opened at 2pm so that just made me even more nrevous because i had to wait about half of the day. My mom went to Wal-mart like forever and i had told her to meet me up at Bluz Tattooz at 2pm and she said ok. She was like 10 or 15 minutes late and about this time i was getting really really nervous. She finally got there.
We walked across the street (it studio was across from the bank and we just parked at the bank because there are no spaces in front of the actually studio anyway back to the story). My mom and me went into the studio and we talked to the clerk who was really super nice and it just happened to be the piercer's daughter. I told her that i wanted a belly ring and she said we had to fill out some forms first. then i payed her my $40. So i could not chicken out
About ten minutes later the piercer called me back to the room (my mom did not come back because she thought i was making a huge mistake). This place is SUPER clean. I cannot remember the piercer's name for anything.
I was in the room and the guy told me to stand up and he cleaned off my navel and marked it. I was shaking like a leaf so he told me to sit down and just breathe. The he put the clamp on and i was not really comprehending anything and he put the needle though and then he put the barbell through and he told me that i was done. I was like "that's it". i will tell you the truth i really felt no pain at all except for a small pinch. it is not really bad pain.
When i got home from wal-mart (because i had to go and buy the betadine)I called my best friend and told her that i had gotten by belly button pierced. She told me that she didn't believe me but that is a whole other story. When we got back to school she saw it and she thought it was cool that i had a belly ring just like she did. Back to my story...
i have had my belly ring for around nine months now and the healing went on as expected just one or two infections but the piercer told me that it was normal. He also told me that after six months that infections were rare. The day after was the worse becuase i went out of town to visit a friend who lives in Macon and there was some discomfort going up there and that night but after that i was just fine.
to anyone who is thinking of getting their belly button pierced GO FOR IT. It is totally worth it. Just make sure that the studio is clean and make sure that the piercer is nice and also the clerk. i would reccommend Bluz Tattooz to anyone who wants to get anything pierced.
And by the way about that military school thing. None of my teachers ever found out and i graduated from there this June and now i can show my belly ring off with pride.
