I've wanted my navel pierced ever since I was in the fifth grade. Back then I used those crappy magnetic things that never worked and looked really fake!!! I wanted a real piercing soooo bad!!!!! Well I finally got one, I was supposed to get it on my birthday, which is this Saturday, but I wanted to get it done before my school's Hawaiin dance so I could show it off, and well, I got it done, here's my story...

Studio First on Granville Location 1149 Granville St., Vancouver, B.C., Canada The day I got my navel pierced was a day I'll never forget. It was Febuary 23, 2001, my appiontment (which my mom made by the way), was at 5:30.
Of course, I freak out and leave early because I didn't exactly know where the place was. So I walked in around 5:20, and the chick behind the counter, Bear, gave me some forms to fill out and an aftercare sheet. Bear told me to read the sheet over and told me there was going to be a test on it, so I read it over. After that she asks me a bunch of questions, and I answer most of them right (lucky me).
Then, she let me choose what kind of ring i wanted, there were two kinds, one that was completely round, and one that was half round, and one side straight. She told me that the completely round one took longer to heal, but was easier to clean and the other one was harder to clean, but healed way faster (because it went into the belly button more). So, being the slacker that I am, I chose the completely round one (which I kind of regret now) and went to sit down and wait.
I watched some guy who got his septum pierced walk out, and waited for a few minutes. I guess I kinda spaced out cuz next thing I know, Bear and the piercer are calling me. So i stand up, and this is when the nervousness kicks in.
I stumble towards the piercer and follow him to the back room and stood there while the piercer-dude marked my navel, and then I lied down on the bed/cart thing, and he cleaned the area with this soy sauce coloured stuff, and then he took the clamp out of a new package and started wrapping an elastic around it. He told me that the clamp was gonna be the worst part (liar!!) and he told me to close my eyes and take deep breaths, and he was using this goofy-trying-to-be-soothing voice, which took me from close relaxation to a laughing fit. Once I settled down, he counted backwards from 3 and stuck the needle through on 2, I flinched with surprise (not necessarily pain), and grabbed his wrist (smooth move, dumbass), and then he chuckles and says something about not having a grabber in a while. Luckily, nothing went wrong due to my idiotic move.
Then I got up and looked in the mirror at it, it was the coolest thing ever! The bead on the shiny new ring looked so awesome! I couldn't get baciguent for it until the next day, and I kind of dried my piercing out by using the wrong soap. Now I'm using the Dial Anti-bacterial stuff as directed and used baciguent for the first week.
I've had it for a little over a month now, another month and I can get the spiral thing I wanted put in, yay!!
Well, thats my story, oh, by the way, I DIDN'T BLEED, IT HASN'T EVEN PUSSED YET!!! So, whatever, do what you want to do, but take care of it and DON'T TOUCH IT!!!
1)Oh, here are some tips from the care sheet they gave me:
2)Don't ever touch your piercing with dirty hands (DUH)
There should not be any direct oral or genital contact with the piercing during the healing period!!!
3) Your piercing may more time than the estimate given to heal. The best way to tell if your totally healed up is when the "crusting" stops, you should still keep cleaning until this is the case. Also, remember that if you remove your jewelry before you've healed, you still have an open wound. Treat it as such.
4)It could take from 6 months to a year before you have a sturdy piercing, so even after they heal, be careful still, because it takes a while for them to toughen up.
My piercing is still pretty red, but it doesn't hurt and it hardly gets sore. I can't wait until I change the jewelry!! i was thinking of a black or rainbow coloured barbell, those things are the cutest ever, I was also thinking of getting my eyebrow or lip done. i want my lip done right in the middle, like Bif Naked's.
~Bye 4 now~ (oh, by the way, the ring was a 14g)
