Alright so here we go with my experience.......

We'll start with my navel piercing...
I am really in love with piercings. i have 11 holes in my ears...over half of them I did myself....and one day during the summer my mom saw me in a little tank top or something and said "You would be the kind of person who would look good with a pierced bellybutton." I was like "Whoah" because this isn't something she would normally say. So I decided to jump at this opportunity. I convinced her to let me get it done one day (A spur of the moment kinda thing). I called the place, and asked them if I could bring a note in from my mom saying it was ok, and they said that was fine.
My boyfriend (now my ex) was coming over that day to hang out...and when he arrived I told him what we were doing. He wasn't too thrilled but enough about him because I don't even talk to him anymore.
So I drove to Express Yourself which is about 20 minutes away from my house. It's probably one of the best places we have around here. They made me fill out a little form, and then they called my mom back just to double check that everything was ok. The lady who was doing it is the lady who owns the place. She's super nice. She showed me all the jewlery and I ended up paying extra so I could get a blue tinted loop with a light blue bead on it. I wasn't really nervous at all. I figured...I had pierced my own ears before so what would be so bad about getting my navel done professionally???
I sat down on the bed thingy and she marked my navel. She told me I had a partial outee so it wasn't going to go in as deep. She also said this was good because it wouldn't hurt as much. ***Side note: You're probably thinking: get a shallower navel piercing so it wont hurt...but loops look larger than they should since it doesn't go in a lot. I am stuck wearing bb's most of the time***
So she marked my navel and had me look at it. I was like: yeah alright that's fine, now let's get pierced. So I layed down on the bed thingy and she clamped me. I think getting clamped is the worst part of getting pierced because it's uncomfortable and it lasts longer than the actual amount of time it takes for the needle to go through. But the clamping didn't hurt...it was just uncomfortable. So then she told me to take a deep breath and when I let it out she would put the needle through. The pain only lasted for about 10 seconds. The needle went through really easily. Then it hurt a little when she had to put the jewlery in. She cleaned me up and made me sit there to make sure I wouldn't get dizzy (This place is really good) I was fine so she told me to stand up and check it out in the mirror. I was really happy with it. She made sure I was ok AGAIN...and after I convinced her I was fine she gave me aftercare instructions. Then I made my way out. For a few days it was just uncomfortable when I bent down or whenever...but it got better and better. I waited about 3 months until I had it changed. I got this really cool piece put it that I haven't seen anywhere else. It was called "Waterfall" It's a barbell with a ball at the top, and the piece at the bottom is really long and through that piece is 3 tiny loops (blue pink and green). I can't explain it well enough...but it was really cool. I took it out eventually because it was pretty big and it aggrivated the whole area. I ended up getting a little bump on the top hole (like the ones you can get on your cartilidge or on the bottom of your tongue) and when I was in there the next time they told me about a bunch of different things to make it go away. ***When you get your navel changed stick to smaller pieces because it will keep your navel healthier*** So I have had my navel pierced for about 8 months now. The bump is still there but I love having it pierced. It just looks cute and I like the whole effect of it.
NEXT...I will be turning 18 in about 2 weeks so I am planning my next piercing. I wanted my tongue done but it will be a pain in the ass to hide it from my parents...and it has become really common. Sooooo after thinking about it and looking on BME i have decided to get my tongue web pierced. I have read every experience on BME and looked at every pic and I am sooooo excited about getting it done. I don't get my piercings for other people's enjoyment....I get them done for me so this will be perfect. I am going to express yourself to get it done (I've gone in there and talked to them about it) and I'll be sure to post my experience on here.
LATER PEEPS!
