Well one of my best friends and I were talking about getting our lips or getting a vertical labret piercing. We were planning on going very soon, but on January 26th 2008 she and my other best friend were killed in a car accident. One of the worst days in my life. But since that happened I had to do it for myself. I really wish she could have been there. I really miss both of them. And love them very much, hoping to see them again one day in heaven, that is if I'm allowed in.

Ok Ok now time for the piercing story.

After looking and looking online for vertical labret picture, barely finding any information or pictures, and since I wanted mine to be on the side of my lip, even less picture and info. After calling about fifteen places, and everyone saying sorry we haven't done that piercing, or its to new of a piercing (wish we know it's not). One of my friends went to a little shop in Rahway and got his eye brow pierced; I decided to give them a call. The guy who answered the phone sounded like he knew what he was talking about, saying he's been doing piercings for over 15 years and has his own machine shop in the back for custom pieces. Well the day came for me to go, my girl friend and I pulled up and it was a tiny tiny little shop I drove past twice actually. I went in and started talking to the guy. He started showing me books and books of piercings that he's done. I brought up vertical labrets; he said he had done a few. But none on the side of the lip. So he told me come in the back and jump in the chair and I did. First we picked a few locations on my lips, finally finding the perfect spot. So now we pick out the barbell I want. It was a 14 gauge, he had suggested not to go any thinner, something about it splitting ur lip, not exactly sure what he was talking about. So he washes his hands for about 2 minutes and puts gloves on right away. Pulls out his needle and clamp from a new package, so he takes my lip and clamps it a couple times making sure to line it up perfect. He says let's do it on five, so he goes one, two, three, you ok? I said u lied and laughed. He's like you did fine, now stay still while I lead the barbell in. Boom done. He said it might be a little tight because it will swell up. I got the piercing on Saturday, he said if it was still tight to come back on Tuesday and he'll give me a longer one. So the weekend goes by, I'm noticing the top ball is sinking into my lip. I notice a lot of people checking out the piercing. So Tuesday rolls around, and I call him and say it's still tight can you do anything. He replies with come on down bro I'll put a bigger one in. So after work that day I drive down there. Sit and talk for a few minutes and he brings me in the back again once again washes his hands for a few minutes and right away puts on gloves. Takes out my old piercing and places a new one right in. What a relief. Right away I felt all the pressure was gone. He said I can keep the original one also because it's no longer new and isn't any good to him now. I tried to give him some money but he refused. I even tried to be slick and leave it on the table, but he grabbed it and put it in my pocket and said. I misjudged how long of a bar bell you would need. NO CHARGE. I felt bad I don't like taking things for free. But that is an awesome way to treat customers, if I decide to get anything pierced in the future, I will return to his shop. Although the area it's located isn't the best, and the shop is very small seriously 5 adults in the front room would be really tight. I am supposed to return soon to drop o So now it's Wednesday February 6th. And I work in the public's eye every day as a manager at a local subway. Allot of people are noticing the piercing and asking questions, "I've never seen that Piercing before, what's it called?" "Wow that looks like that hurt." "Are you supposed to be wearing that at work?"... It is all fun though.
