It had always been my plan to get my labret done again after I had to take it out because it was slightly off center when I did it myself. The surprise was that I found a ride and was able to get it done a lot sooner than I expected. I usually have to wait at least a month after figuring out what I want to be able to get a ride to get it. I won't go through with the waiting in the lobby because it' was the exact same as it was in my other two stories. After signing the paper and showing my ID, it was back to the piercing room. I already felt the excitement of a new piercing start to bubble up inside me.

Back in the piercing room it was the same old, same old, waiting for everything to get cleaned up and sterilized, shooting the shit with RenDi, talking about my future piercings and the tattoo I want. I had him check out my other piercings to make sure everything is healing fine (it is). I got in the chair and I told him I wanted a hoop to match my snakebites. When he asked if that would take away from the snakebites, I told him about my plan to stretch it and put a spiked labret stud in once it is healed (now that it is almost healed, I don't want to stretch it as much because I think it adds to the snakebites so much). He told me he was going to freehand it this time instead of using clamps like he had last time, saying it is easier and will hopefully swell less because of it. After the way my lip swelled up last time, I hope it helps.

He sterilized my lip and then marked the spot. He looked at it a couple of times, making the slightest adjustments. He handed me a mirror to see if I liked the placement. When I looked at it, I couldn't see the dot so he shaved what little facial hair I have on my lip and marked it again. It looked off center by the slightest bit. He made a tiny adjustment which didn't seem to make a difference. He put the ring on my lip so we could see how it would look. It still looked off center. He lifted up my left snakebite to see what it would look like with both snakebites sitting upright and, lo and behold, the new ring was directly in the middle of them.

Because my snakebites had caused problems with swelling after they were done, this new ring was a little bit bigger than the other two. At first, I thought this would look silly, especially after it was healed. I went along with his advice and kept it and after having looked at it for a long time now, I think it juxtaposes the other two very nicely. I'm really glad it's not the same size as the other two. It gives my lip variety.

Anyway, once we had concluded it was good, RenDi took out the needle and turned towards me. I had been feeling the adrenaline rush that I love so much. But this time, it was much stronger than I am used to. So strong, in fact, that when he told me to breathe in I told him to hold on a second. I needed a second to pull myself together. Now this confused me because I know what to expect. I know it doesn't hurt. I know how easy it is. But my heart was beating much faster than usual. It was almost the panicky way I get when I am getting shots. It wasn't unpleasant, just really intense. I needed a second to stop and calm myself down.

After a quick breather, I told him to go ahead. He pulled out my lip and put the needle up to the inside. Then, he changed his mind and put it on the outside of my lip. He told me to take a deep breathe on the count of three and then it was through. It was by far the least painful piercing I have had yet, even considering the scar tissue. Even still, my heart was racing harder than it ever has before. I told him that I was ok and he put the ring in. I looked at it in the mirror and it was perfect. I expect no less than the best when I go to RenDi. I paid for it, very happy with the results. I'm still not sure why the least painful, easiest piercing I have gotten provoked the strongest, most intense reaction with my body. And so far it has given me the least problems during healing. After two months, it feels like my best healed piercing (besides my ears).
