I have been waiting to get the other side of my lip done for a long while now, about a year I think. Because I know someone, who I met online, who said she wanted to do it for me.

I finally managed to organize a day where I can go into the shop where she was working that was
a) On my school holidays
b) At a time that was convenient for me
And c) a time where my mother was there, because she wanted to come incase I was not able to get one because I'm under the age of 18.
So, once I get there, turns out my friend, Babz, was on her break, so I waited around the shop, then went to the news agency to look at magazines. By then my nerves where playing up a bit, even though this is my 3rd facial piercing (not including my ears, I got them done when I was 2 years old).
I shrugged it off, and went back, there being no magazines that I wanted to buy.
She was there, so we exchanged greetings, and I filled in the form for the piercing. Turns out that because I had my I.D and that I was over 16, I could get it done without parental supervision.
Hooray for me.
Walking into the room, I sat down on the ever-so-uncomfortable bed. She started talking, gossiping more than anything though, because she knew I was aware of the pain and shit. My aunt decided to come in to watch, since my mother does not like to watch me get hurt, which is funny really.
We talked about how I was originally going to get my lip done again at a shop called Hairhouse Warehouse, another place that does piercings.
She made a very good point, and I quote, "Why go to a hairdresser to get a piercing, I mean, would you come to me to get your hair cut".
Secretly, I would let her cut my hair though, she's cool, and she has an awesome style. She was washing her hands and all that, and my aunt started saying that Babz's pants are annoying her, because they were falling down. She laughed because they were too big, but she liked to wear them.
But yea, she cleaned up my lip and placed the first mark. Then she said that because I got a ring in, the mark may be deceiving, so I took it out.
She wiped the first mark out and re-marked it, saying that the new mark looked a lot more even (even with friends, she's so professional, yet can be funny and honest too! Great traits for a piercer, in my own opinion.)
Once the marking was all set and I was happy with it, she got me to lie down, and she opened up all the fresh equipment.
Getting the clamp, she pulled my lip and clamped it (ouch) and pulled it away, before getting me to breathe in, then out, at which point she, as I say, stabbed me in the lip.
Even though it may be pain, I missed the feeling of a fresh piercing, the adrenaline rush just makes me feel so...funny, but that's me.
She took the clamp off and I laid there, my lip feeling like a pin cushion, but I was not complaining, my aunt (who was in there with me) was very impressed with the no fuss, no messing around that she did.
She then put the jewelry in the end of the needle...thing, the pushed it through.
Once she put the jewelry in, she cleaned up the outside, (which hardly bled...unlike my previous lip piercing), screwed on the ball, and told me I was all done.
Sitting up, I checked it out in the mirror, and was very happy with it. It was done by very well, and was exactly the way I wanted it.
She then ran me through the aftercare procedure, including the bit about smoking and drinking, but she added I know you don't, but I'm required to say this, otherwise I'd get into trouble.
We laughed, because we would not want her to get into trouble. I paid for it myself, 50 bucks, but it was worth every cent.
It's been about 9 hours, and it's not very sore at all, especially compared to my previous one.
I have been cleaning it with a saline liquid, normally for contacts, but works good for piercing. I'm also meant to be using a non-alcoholic mouth wash for the inside but we forgot to buy any, so I have been using salt and water as a substitute for now.
And that's my recent piercing event.
I know have snakebites, after waiting for around a year, Heh.
I'm very happy. =]
