Not really, but that's not the point. Last year one of my best friends got her nose pierced, I liked it but I felt if I got it we would be too similar and it was also a little plain. During the summer I really started getting into body piercings but I had no idea which I wanted to get, plus there's the whole parents thing but my mom can't say much because she's the same way.
At A Glance Author brittah Contact brittah@bme.anon When Six months ago Studio RC's Location outside of Philadelphia During the summer I go to a lot of shows and 'course at concerts you're going to see some body holes, so I got a chance to see what would look good on me and other stuff like that. I've always loved Gym Class Heroes, so I started getting partial to Travis's nose and Monroe, honestly they look really unique together. I've seen them on opposite sides, but I have both on my right side, Anyways.
So I bring up the idea to my mom, and she automatically says, ask your father. I do just that, and he's completely cool about the whole deal, I don't live with my dad so this is probably why haha. I looked for a few places who accepted 14 year olds, there was only a few around here, and I wasn't about to drive anywhere ridiculous to get some extra holes put in my face. I picked RC's which is a shop outside Philly, in Folsum Pa, I guess? I'm not sure where, I wasn't really focusing on the scenery haha.
Anyway, I get there and I wait a few minutes for them to get set up, and I get seated in the famous dentist chair. The piercer only thought I was getting my Monroe and asked "Are you sure you want to get them BOTH in the same day?". I thought I could handle it so I said yes, I could. I'm an all around cry baby, but surprisingly I did not cry once throughout this whole process. My right eye did water some though. It actually didn't bleed as much as I expected it, I had some blood crusted around it until I got home, but it wasn't that big of a deal. He did my nose next but that's for another story. I went out shopping after that, clothes shopping. I was pretty worried about eating and was extra careful but I realize that nothing happens to harm it while chewing so I just eat like a regular pig now =]. Also, it hurt to move it out and in the first week or two I had it, but I think it was just because my skin wasn't used to being stretched that much around another object hahaha.
I noticed that the jewelry was really small, like the gem but I wasn't too worried about it. Only a few days went by and the ball of my Monroe fell off, I was pissed. I wasn't about to drive back to philly, so my mom took me to Perkasie to FYRE body arts. Now, I wish I've gotten my piercings here the people are so friendly and the guy who always helps me out with my face holes is so hilarious. Anyways, I go there and they fix my Monroe with a bigger ball for super cheap. Everytime I have problems with my nose I go there too they're seriously down to earth, and if you're in the area and have some holes of your own I recommend going to them. They don't cost a bajillion dollars either. Also, this is off topic, but when I had to get my nose stud put back in, they told me that the jewelry that the other shop used was totally bad, the screw in the nose was huge and impossible to get back in, he even said that using the thing I have now is a lot better. And when putting in my nose ring he was like "This is going to hurt a LOT more then when you got it pierced, I was surprised but I braced myself, within the next few seconds he was done and I was like "You said it would hurt..." and he said "I fibbed." They're really funny people there, and super friendly so don't be afraid to ask for anything.
At the moment, my Monroe broke (probably my fault since I always play with it with my tongue) and the screw wouldn't tighten it would just spin and spin, and since it didn't tighten it just fell off one day at home and it was impossible to find. I currently have the bar in my face though, just to keep the hole open, I'm praying it doesn't close, I don't think it will it's been in for five months, though it has been a little tough to get in lately.
If you're thinking about getting this piercing you should definitely do it, it can make your face! Also, I also think playing around with another thing to maybe counter it or go along side it would be nice maybe it's just me but I think that stuff like that is really adorable haha.
