So I have been putting off getting my Labret done for the longest time. well, mainly because my boyfriend didn't really approved (he hates piercing, especially facial ones.)However, we talked about it and he said he will be fine with it so I didn't hesitate when he finally did approve of it! The only reason why he even said yes is because he hopes I'll get bored of it and takes it out just like I did with my eyebrow :) so here I am two and half weeks later telling you of my experience.
At A Glance Author Octoberlover Contact Octoberlover@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Amber Studio New Tribe Location Toronto, Ontario I woke up to my phone ringing at around 10:45 this morning and it was my work calling me, asking me if I could come into work earlier because one of the workers called in sick. So now I have to start working at 2 instead of 6, I didn't want to tell them no because I just started the job! In my head I'm scream NOOOOOOO, because I was suppose to get my labret done today but I agreed to go in earlier anyways. *sigh*
So I then called up my friend because she promised to come with me, she didn't pick up her phone because she was still sleeping, so then I started to debate as to whether or not I should go without her; and so I went without her because I wanted it done today and I had work earlier than I expected and so I got dressed and went down town.
When I got off the streetcar I started to feel nervous as ever the closer I got, I kept thinking to myself I could turn back anytime now but for some strange reason I kept on walking toward the store. The guy at the counter greeted me with a warm welcome, which put me at ease. I walked up and told him that I wanted to get my labret done and he gave me a paper to fill out with my name, address, date of birth, etc. after I filled it out he told me that my piercing cost $55.00 and so I paid him, he then told me that my piercer will come and get me in 5-15 min. I looked on my phone and it was 12:38 so I sat and wanted. Honestly, that 15 min. felt like forever, especially since I went there all by myself!
The piercer, Amber then came out and called my name and took me to the back and tells me about the after care. She showed me the stud for my labret and told me that she was going to used a longer stud in case of any swelling, she asked me if I had any other piercing and I told her that my tongue is pierce, she said that my labret is not going to require that much cleaning as my tongue piercing did. I put down my bag and jacket as she told me to! She gave me a small cup with mouthwash and made me rinse my mouth, she mark a spot below my bottom lip and I was pleased with it because if I should take the piercing out the scar wouldn't be that visible, she rubbed iodine on my chin, and then got an Q tip and rubbed the inside of my mouth and mark the inside as well, she then clamp and put it on my lip and rubbed the needle in surgical lubricant and told me to take a deep breath and the next thing I knew I was looking at my fabulous labret piercing at 12:55.
She me a card that tells me the after care and also a receipt that will allow me to go back and change my ring in 4 weeks along with my shorter stud for $20.00
I went to work right after my piercing was done and the most important thing is that I was able to eat, which is kinda a tricky because the back kept on being caught on my teeth!
I called my friend back because she left me a voice mail and I told her how my piercing went and now she wants one but I think she'll be getting the Monroe piercing, I planned to get a tattoo of a Jamaica map (a small one) whenever she goes and get her piercing done!
Surprisingly, my lip isn't swollen at least not yet, its now 3:09 am and I'm still up looking at my piercing and sharing my experience with you!I had fun getting it done today considering that I didn't have any company to talk to and not to mention I am scared of needles. If you are considering getting your labret done, I say go for it... But do your research on it like I did.
Best regards,
