It was different from the piercing I had got recently. Namely ears and tongue piercings. It was different in its visibility. Once I had it. I was going to have a piercing on my face and on removal a scar no matter how small. Still I managed to get past that and if you could see my beautiful collection of piercings now you would smile. We all know what it is like!
Still I had made up my mind. I went to my usual piercer Dan at www.lefthandpathtattoos.com they are in Linwood in Christchurch. A little out of the city yet at this time I had been in once and had been very happy. Now further on I have lost track of how many visits I have had there. I am always welcomed all the staff are friendly and knowledgable. I will be taking my fem submissive in later this year to get a tattoo done by Holger.
After choosing my jewelery for my madonna which matched the labret. I went with the smallest jeweled flat back jewelery.... Boy I did not know how things would change so soon.
First I had to choose a side. Even though I had recently had a upper vertical cartlidge and this day was also having a second next too it. Both of these were in my right ear. I still settled on having the madonna piercing above my right lip.
Dan had already taken the jewelery to the autoclave. I waited in the waiting area and flipped through some of the tattoo portfolio books. Soon we were ready to go.
Dan took me into the piercing room. It is white clean and has a cabinet with drawers with the various sterile packs of gloves, neddles and all that lovely stuff. He then got the violet marker out and said he would mark a few places over my lip and I could then look in the mirror and see what I liked best. I settled on one slightly higher than the original markings and somewhere over the centre of them.
After reaching that decision Dan went through the procedure explained how it would be done etc. I asked him about the healing times etc and any complications I might face. He explained the jewelery he was putting in was slightly longer than needed. This was to accomodate the swelling which was normal and to be expected over the healing process. He told me come back in a few weeks. I will shorten it and it will be fine. Its normal for people to point out that its too long. So that put me at ease. I knew it didnt need to look like that forever after swelling went down.
The needle, the lovely needle was removed from the package. Fresh gloves and Dan proceded to pierce me. It was quick. Realtively painless. I have high pain thresholds and basically kept talking throughout besides the pause to let the needle go through.
The jewelery was in and I was handed a mirror to admire. I was happy with the placement. The new look etc. I swung my legs down and got up. Then I paid Dan and thanked him telling him I will probably see him again soon.
I had little problem with the healing. When I went back Dan said I heal quickly. I used the recommended salt rinses and swished the solution inside my mouth too. There was a little swelling and redness at first but now it is perfect.
Just recently I took my female submissive to get snake bites and at the same time I told Dan I wanted to get a metal ball in my madonna and get rid of the jewel. I wanted to match all my new piercings. So I went up a bigger size to 12 gauge. He said use some vasoline it might hurt a little but would not be a big deal. Since I was already there I asked if he would do it for me.
And he said. "Sure, not a problem."
Dan changed the piercing , the new size went through easily and pain free. Was red the next day or two but no more than that. I simply stepped up my salt water cleaning to make sure there was no issues. He then let my submissive pay and when I asked him how much it would be for my new jewelery he refused to charge me and said I'll see you next time.
Can you beat that? No.
