I have always been attracted to lip rings since I had first seen them. And although I was completely terrified of needles, piercings were something I wanted.

I already have my ears done twice, and my belly button. Now I was wanting something else. I decided to either get my eyebrow or my lip done.
They all had their pro's and con's to them, of course.
The eyebrow piercing would become a problem when it came to plucking my eyebrows and the way I sleep. Lip of course the possible damage to teeth.
With the help of my mom and some friends, I came to the conclusion that a lip piercing would look amazing on me. So now that it was settled, I just had to go get it done, regardless of the con's.
I was supposed to get it done on Friday, April 20th, yes 4/20, but because it was my moms friend that would take us she decided to make us wait until the following Monday, the 23rd.
Finally the day came. All I had to do was wait for my mom and her friend to get off of work, which is a tough thing to do when you are excited.
Well she got home and after calling to make sure Robin was in, we set off into town. Stopping at the post office made the wait unbearable. At last we arrived at Alien Ink.
A few people were standing around waiting to get their septum pierced but because one was still healing after being taken out they decided to wait.
I walked up to Robin who greeted me as normal and asked what I wanted pierced today. I told him I wanted the left side of my lip, with a ring of course. Then waited as I filled out the form, my hand shaking the entire time. The total came to around thirty three dollars, which isn't bad at all. I was more nervous than I had ever been in my life.
After that he led us to the counter to choose jewelry. I chose a 16g magenta titanium cbr with a black ball. Titanium because I had to have it put in my belly button and didn't want to take any chances.
Finally the time came to go into the piercing room. I became even more anxious while he trimmed down the cbr so it wasn't so big.
While he did this me and my mom just kind of looked around and joked about getting her nose re-pierced.
Then the time came for the marking, which was perfect the first time. He handed me a mirror to check it and it was great. He laughed and said I could put the mirror down so I didn't swing it at him.
He told me to open my mouth wide which was hard because I was so nervous. Then came the clamps. I'd have to say they weren't very bad but defiantly uncomfortable.
I saw him reach for the needle and my heart sped up a little more. I stared over his shoulder at my mom who looked like she was going to laugh.
The needle went through, almost no pain.
As he took the clamps off, I looked at my mom as if to say "what the heck; was that it??"
He put the jewelry through, which I barley felt. I got nervous again only because he had to make the cbr a little smaller which wasn't very fun, but again, I didn't feel it.
Finally the ball came and I fell in love. It looks amazing.
He then explained how to care for it. Washing the outside with anti-bacterial soap and turning the cbr, and rinsing my mouth out with either sea salt or a mixture of half water, half Listerine. Also that I couldn't have bread or dairy for two weeks. Most of which I already knew, and we were on our way.
It has been a day and I am in love. My lip did swell which was expected but I took and Ibuprofen and ate some ice cubes which really help a lot. I plan to go get the other side done, to complete my snake bites of course, and eventually my tongue and some other misc. piercings.
I would recommend this piercing to anyone who wants it. It's amazing. And the pain really isn't as bad as you would think.
And if anyone is around Bullhead City, Arizona, I would recommend Robin at Alien Ink, for whatever piercing you are interested in. He does an awesome job and as the owner of the place he is great and he really knows what he is doing.
