So, I've been wanting, no, craving a lap piercing since I was 16, but my mom and her "as long as you're under my roof..." mentality had put an end to my fun...until now that is. So, she amended her stance and, though I won't be under her roof for much longer, she realized that today, my 18th birthday, makes me a legal adult and, while still under her financial support(not for much longer) I didn't want to make her mad, blah blah, any way, she agreed.
At A Glance Author juju Contact juju@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Chris Studio Blue Flame Location Raleigh, NC So, the place, blue flame on Hillsboro st in Raleigh, NC. I think that guy's name was Chris, I don't remember. I'm sure the more experienced of you guys would scoff at that, but, I mean, its not like I was getting some amazing piece of art, this is just a first step. So, when I do a real piece of work, I'll hunt around for the best. I just wanted this done NOW. So, 4:00 on my birthday, right after school, I go in with my bestie, Jenn, and get this monster ring, I have to keep it in 'til it heals, then I'll go for a something smaller. Actually, it's funny, by the time i got in there, I had begun to waver about what I actually wanted, and then upon arriving, and seeing all the pictures, and, of course, taking the time to peruse every single shot they had ever taken of anything they had ever done, I wanted to get ten things pierced instead of one! I considered the nose for about half a second, but, unless I'm going to put a safety pin though it, I would just end up looking like another sorority girl. So, right, I looked at all the pictures, including the genital, which I just could not imagine! It's not even really that I couldn't imagine having it, though I don't really see that either, but the experience of getting it done, I would just be so embarrassed! I'm sure the guys are all really professional, and that, since they do it all the time its really not that big of a deal, but still!!
Anyway, so I finally decide that all my other piercing and tattoo(I can't wait!-but I want to get my idea completely mapped out in my head/notebook before I commit) off for another day. And I'm taken into one of the stall jiggers, and Jenn comes to hold my hand (bestie!!)and by the way the decor was pretty awesome-it made me giggle a lot (nakey and blasphemous, mostly). Anyway, Chris marks my lip a couple of times, but I was picky. I figure I should be, right, this is something that will be(now is!!) a part of me. Jenn made fun but Chris understood, he had enough piercings and stuff, he should! So he was a pro and kept doing it over and over. Then the third time it was right, on the left side, a little low, right at the one quarter mark. He used a pair of tong-like holders, and pinched down tight, and took an enormous needle (I'm tough!) that was hollow, and pushed it right through, no flinching! It really wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be, and didn't hurt at all. He showed me a mirror so I could see the enormous rod sticking out of my face-no thanks! Then he used the thin tube to work the ring on, and then expertly fixed the little black ball on, and tada!! done. That part made my cheek a little sore, but not too too bad. For now, saline solution and no touching "keep your grubby little paws off!"
I'm so proud. My mom even told me I could "pull it off." I'm such a brat I just want to show it off. As soon as I can borrow a good camera I'm going to display it as it should be. I feel more like me with it in, you know?
So, I was all high and mighty and thinking I was so much tougher than all the people who had warned me it would hurt, and then i woke up! I'm so glad tomorrow is Saturday. So, Friday night, I took a nap at, like, 7, and woke up at 9 ready to go out for some fun, ugh! I feel like I've been punched! (or had a big needle shoved through my face) My lip is really big on that side and a little bit purple right around the hole. There was crust all around the ring, and I scraped it off using my fingernail (I know, no hands! I couldn't help it!) it reminded me of pink-eye crust. I was really a sharp pain when the ring would rotate at all. Oh well, it's worth it. I'm just glad tomorrow is Saturday. I most definitely will be loafing around here until I look less alien-esque!
