Ok so I have wanted various things pierced for ages but only just turning 16 the options have only just became good. So I begged my parents for AGES to let me have my lip done. This caused a lot of arguments and discussions and bargaining and bribing. Eventually they said I could have my lip done... When I was in year 12... I'm in year 11 at the moment and was in year 10 at the time so that was no good. Eventually we came to the concussion of a Smiley. They can't see it much and if I wear a bar in it not at all. Obviously I agreed straight away as I'd seen them on here and loved them.

Studio Blue Bannana Location Cardiff UK So that was about 2/3 months ago and the wait seemed to take forever and in that time I tried to do it myself. The piercing myself part didn't go that badly because I had a decent hollow needle and don't mind putting holes in my self. But when I tried to put the ring in it wouldn't happen and my smiley is very high so it was difficult to hold my lip high enough without sneezing. Also my smiley stretched to about an inch and a half. I hadn't heard anything about this happening so was a little shocked but got on with it anyway.
So. The needle was out and wouldn't go back in so that was the end of that.
Anyway I decided to wait till I could have it done professionally for a lot of reasons including my parents.
So 3 days ago me and my mum got ourselves on the train to Cardiff. We were at the door of blue banana at 9 and then noticed the sign saying it didn't open till 9:30 so went had food got mouthwash for later and went back at 9:40 ish.
We walked right up to the back of the shop and the piercing counter where we were met by a muchly pierced guy who looked a lot like jay from bullet for my valentine. We chatted for somewhere around what must have been 15 minutes about piercing and got around to me eventually he said ''So what do you want love'' and I grinned and said ''a smiley please'' He grinned back and said ''Oh I've had mine done twice before '' This of course encouraged me and I filled in the forms and signed in the right places and handed over £19.99 then my mum piped up about prices for holes through flaps of skin..
Anyway I was first that day to be pierced so the autoclave took a while but when it was done and I was getting suitable nervous I took myself into the room and sat down. The lady who was piercing me (I don't remember her name) was very bubbly and had pink hair so I was happy with that. She told me all the after care and about the needle and how she would do it (Free hand coz I have a high smiley)
After a bit of fussing on my half she said ok well we don't have long so are we going to do this thing. So I stopped fussing and let her get up there... So strange if I may say so...
The piercing took about half a second and just felt a tiny bit pinchy for a moment so virtually painless like I have read so many times on BME I found that the weirdest thing was sitting there with the needle in. She then had to cut the needle down a few times. This to be fair was not a very plesant experience It hurt more than the actual thing.
The Ring and the Ball were the hard parts she managed the ring but the jay look alike was asked to help with the ball. Eventualy it was done and I had a look and loved it!
Some thing I have never read in a account of this piercing is that it makes you sneeze. In the ten minutes I was in the room for I must have sneezed about 25 times. And each time made the lady laugh and have to do some readjusting.
My mum didn't seem to mind it so that was great... We thanked them and then left
After its done I have found it doesn't hurt at all you are just aware of it for the first day and have to adjust your lip over it sometimes. It was a very good experience.
I would recommend it to anyone interested in a more personal piercing that not everyone has to see. And anyone who has to firstly have a battle with their parents.
