It was the morning of Nov 12th 2005 and I somehow knew that this was going to be the day. The day I decided "Hey I think I'm going get my lip pierced". Of course I contemplated about doing this awhile. My choices were Labret, Vertical Labret or Madonna but I knew I couldn't have all so I had a lot of thinking to do. I eventually made up my mind after alot of thinking that I was going to get my Madonna done.

I was in class and suddenly got the urge to get the piercing done immediately. At this point I was on my phone calling Yoga Maya (where I usually go to get my tattoos and piercing done) to see if they can fit me into there tight schedule. My piercer, Lawrence, was not able to squeeze me in due to my abrupt appointment.
So at this point I was utterly confused as to where to go since there is a lack of Tattoo Studios in my country that are actually worthy of going to. I ended up asking a classmate if she knew of anyone around the city who does these sorts of things. She recommended me to Needles Ink (which by the way I've always heard of and seen very good work from them) I asked her to accompany me to Needles Ink since I didn't know my way around the city and so she did.
I was so excited on my way to the parlor that my knees were getting weak. I just couldn't believe that I was going to get this done. I entered into a mall and headed to the escalator in the direction of the parlor. As I entered into the parlor I was greeted by the courteous staff of Needles Ink. I felt very comfortable there but we all know we don't judge a book by its cover. So, I being all inquisitive and wanting to find out more about these people since I have no idea who they are began to ask questions. I proceeded to ask the piercer (Hanns) about a little background on the studio, how long he has been doing this etc.
After all the interrogations he handed me some papers to full out. At this point I was so very excited I couldn't write, so my friend assisted in completing the questioner and of course I reviewed and signed. I then walked over to the glass case to chose my jewelry (nothing to fancy of course) and my friend and I was then escorted to back where everything was about to go down.
He handed me Listerine to rinse then he sprayed my mouth with god knows what (numbing substance I guess) then we began to look at the perfect placement. I made him fix it twice to my liking. After this I had to use the washroom [yes I was very excited I had to take a piss] when I returned I was instructed to recline on a nice big leather chair like thing. At this point I began to get nervous whilst he was putting on his gloves. He then reached for "The Forceps" and made sure everything was in place. Hanns was giving me the pep talk before he pierced me.
This was the time. At the count of 3 was my signal to take a deep breathe. Of course I felt nothing because half my face was numb. Hanns then told me "I think you would have to come back another day to do the piercing" my response was "what!?...what is wrong?" I then looked over to my friend and she had this confused look on her face. Hanns then said "hey I'm joke with you, it looks perfect" at this point I almost killed him but it was funny non the less.
At this point he already screwed in the ball and I was on my way to the mirror to check out my new piercing.It looked wonderful. Hanns then gave me a little handout on aftercare an went over everything step by step and instructed me to visit him in a 2 weeks time to see how things was shaping up as well as to change the stud to a shorter one.
The funny thing was while I was walking back to class, I got alot of attention on the road and my mom seem to love the piercing as well since I forgot to inform her that I was going to get it done that very same day.
I would defiantly advise anyone to get a Madonna done (and no it didn't hurt). I would highly recommend if anyone is to visit my country and is thinking about doing any piecing, go check out these guys, you would not regret it.
