My buddy (Barney), my girlfriend (Kim) and one of her friends ( Lea)were all hanging out at my house. As usual I was dancing around my room to some happy hardcore I had playing, and Barney and Kim were talking about what parties were going on that night and what they wanted to get to drink. When Lea asked if my ear piercings were actually that big and what gauge they were. I told her they were 00 gauge in the first holes and 10 gauge in the second. She asked if it hurt to stretch , I said yes jokingly. The she mentioned that she wanted to get her navel Pierced but was afraid of the pain. The only way to get over that is to just do it I said, then began heckling her about it. Then Kim grabbed her by the arm and said were taking you to get pierced. Barney said he'd drive, and we were off.
On the way to the piercing shop I told Kim I wanted to get my lip re-pierced and she said she'd pay for it. We ended up parking on the far end of Main street, and had to walk. After we got out of the car barney and I both lit cigarettes. After we got to the piercing shop , Barney and I finessed our cigarettes then walked in. I knew the girl running counter that day, I had gone to school with her. Her name was Bridget. I told her that I was getting my lip pierced. While she was ringing me up I got into a conversation with her about some up coming rave parties. I filled out the form and paid then Lea did the same. Bridget asked if I wanted a ring or stud and what gauge I wanted it in, and showed me a display case with what they had. I chose a 14ga. Ring with a red bead to match my labret, Lea got a standard curved barbell. Kim decided to get some 8 ga. rings for her ears. After I paid Kim walked over by me and kissed me then hugged me and asked if it was going to be different kissing me with a lip ring. While we sat in the waiting room me and Kim were playing around and Lea sat on a couch clutching a pillow. Then I was called into the piercing room, I gave Kim a kiss, then smiled and told her it was going to fell different afterwards. Kim asked if she could watch. I said sure, and Barney just followed. While Lea stayed in the waiting room Still clutching the pillow.
I sat on the table and the piercer, Kelly asked me what side I wanted it on , I told her left where the scar from the last lip piercing was. I knew Kelly for a few years now, My second holes in my ears were her first piercing. She had also done a few of my stretches. She cleaned the area and made a mark with a pen. Then held up a mirror and asked if I like the placement. I told her it was good. She gave me a small cup with Listerine in it and told me to swish it around in my mouth for five seconds which I did. Then she had me lay back . I laid back and closed my eyes. Kim grabbed my hand and held it behind her back. The piercer had me take a deep breath then let it out then another , as let that out I felt the sting from the needle and squeezed Kim's hand. My eyes watered a little but it was over with my lip was pierced again. The piercer put the ring in and gave me another cup of Listerine I swished that around and spit it out the went back into the waiting room.
Then Lea was called in to the piercing room and Kim went with her, I stayed in the waiting room with Barney. They came out twenty minutes later and Lea said that it wasn't as bad as she thought. On the way out Bridget gave us both aftercare sheets and cleaning solution plus a bottle of Listerine for me. After we got back to my place Kim asked me if I could put the new rings in. I told her that she could have had the piercer do that and that it would have been better than me doing it. Then I grabbed my taper and some cleaning solution and put her new rings in. For a few hours after my lip felt like I had a cold sore where the new piercing is. It's been a month and a half since then and I've had no complications with the piercing.
