I am a piercing advocate. I love the way it feels, getting pierced does not hurt me. Accept for this one time. I will never forget the experience I'm about to share with you. It really wasn't HORRIFIC, it was just bad with a dash of annoyance. I'm not annoyed with the guy that initially pierced me, I really can't be. It's more at myself. I really should've known what was going on. Anyway, here's my lip piercing story.

I woke up last friday and realized that I would look good with a pierced lip, and I just really wanted a new piercing, so I went to my usual place, Koolsville.

When I walked in I noticed that my guy Tony wasn't there, which normally would've sent me back home. I just really wanted my lip done, so I stayed. A guy that I've never seen before asked me what I wanted so I pointed EXACTLY where I wanted the hole. He nodded, I paid, and we walked to the back.

Well, let me tell you that I knew deep down that something was going to go wrong but again I didn't care because I wanted it done so bad. He started getting things ready and I grew anxious, I didn't know what to expect at all. At least Tony would be talking to me, joking around, whatever.

He finally got settled and asked me if I was ready, I nodded. But nothing would ever get me ready for this experience. He put the clamps on my lip without marking the spot, which should've been a red flag but ,eh what can you do. I thought he just knew what he was doing. The clamp did feel a little lower than what I wanted but I thought that's just where the clamp was supposed to go.

Without warning he stabbed the needle through, well halfway through. It kinda got stuck or something. Instead of using more force (my lip is throbbing just thinking about it) he just proceeded to twist the rest of the way. It was probably the worst feeling of pain I've ever felt. The needle is through now, and I started to regain my color. Worst is over. Nope! He goes for the transition of needle to post, the needle falls right out of my lip without him getting the post in. Blood is everywhere. I start getting up saying "to hell with this!"

He started saying that he'd just stick another needle through the same hole it and that it wouldn't hurt what so ever. Fine! I sat back down and said go for it. At first he was doing great it wasn't hurting at all. Then I don't know for sure how it happened, but he pierced another hole! He may have went on an angle or something but hell!

He gets the post in! Yeah, awesome! I looked in the mirror, and stared in horror. He pierced way lower than my lip. I don't even know what the hell you would call the placement. Either way, I looked at him held out my hand and said "I want my money in my hand right now, and after you do that I want you to take this out!" He did both very very quickly.

After a couple of days I went back to see if Tony was there, and he was. I showed him my scar and told him what happened. After I was done he smiled. What The *uck! "You didn't know that Dante was an apprentice did you?" Um, no. I was never told, I figured it out towards the end of my experience, but no, Dante never told me.

Tony did my lip after I apologized for "cheating" on him. He did my lip in under two minutes! Gracefully but quickly.

Moral of the story, there's actually two. If you go to someone that you like and that does a good job, don't go to anyone else. It doesn't matter if you want it really bad, the pain is not worth it. Second, if all signs are pointing towards the worst just stop. Don't go through with it! Because I let Dante "double pierce me" I have a scar right under my hoop. It's not ugly or anything. It just reminds me how stupid I actually am sometimes. And it gives my friends something to make fun of me about. They'll never let me live down my bad call.

The cool thing is, I now have my lip done, and it looks pretty damn good. And Tony gave it to me for free, so it looks just that much better. I may go get my other side done later, I don't know though because I will admit. . .getting my lip done did in fact hurt! It was surprising how much it hurt, didn't really expect it at all. But again, it was totally worth it.
