About a year ago I was visiting a friend who had a lip ring. I thought it looked cool and she convinced me to get one. I was visiting her up in England and we decided I would get a piercing or a tattoo before I returned home to Canada. However I ran out of my spending money and I didn't want to get yelled at when I returned to work. So we decided to wait until Christmas break when she would come down and visit me and after I got the ok from my work.

I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get my lip pierced. Then summer 2006 came. And this new girl started at my work. A bunch of us were randomly talking piercings and odd stuff we had seen on people. The new girl then said she wanted to get her lip pierced, but always had no one to go with. I was happy cause I said the same thing. So we both agreed to book a day off work and go shopping and get our lips done. That was about 2 weeks ago.
Two weeks past and it was finally the day of our piercing. I was excited and scared at the same time. The day before we found a place that we heard had a good reputation and we called and made an appointment. My friend went first. And while I was waiting I got more and more nervous. I seriously wanted to just run out the door. It also made me more nervous because as the needle went through her lip she made a weird sound, which sounded like she was in pain. She then told me that it was a sigh of relief and not a pain sound. That made me feel better.
While waiting for my turn I was talking to the tattoo artist and I was saying how I was a wimp and would probably start to cry or something. He told me to relax because if I was tense then it would hurt more.
Moments later it was my turn. I sat in the dentist chair type thing and I was told to rinse with this horrible tasting mouth wash. That was actually the worst part. Then he marked where I wanted my ring. Then he cleaned around my lip and clamped it. The clamp put pressure on my lip and I didn't realize that my lip could pull that far away from my face. He held the needle up and told me to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. And as I did that he slid the needle in. WOW I didn't feel a thing. Then he left the needle in for a few seconds while he got the ring. That was kind of odd having a needle sticking out. When he replaced the needle with the ring it was an odd feeling cause I could feel the needle being pulled out. It was like if you swallow a piece of spaghetti and then pull it back out of your throat.
He then put the ball on and it was done. I had to lay in the chair with the fan on me for a few moments. It was a safety thing incase I got up and fainted or something. Cause he said that some people do that on rare cases. The other girl sat in the chair longer then I had to cause I guess she got more dizzy and light headed then I did.
We then both paid $60 and he gave us sea salt and care instructions and then we left. We waited the few hours before we ate. I was too scared to eat so I didn't eat until the next day, but such small bites. Both our lips look good. I got mine done on the right and hers on the left.
It sucks cause she brought her camera to record, but her battery was low so we decided to take pictures, but then we forgot about that too.
I love it and it looks good. And I have been taking good care of it and I hope it heals good quick and well. I hope it doesn't get infected at all.
The only thing is we didn't ask permission at work and I booked 4 days off, but the other girl went back to work the next day and she is supposed to tell me how much trouble she got into.
So now in 2 weeks my friend from England is coming back and she will see finally after 1 year I got my lip done. I feel bad because I think she wanted to be there for when it was done and also I got it done on the same side as hers is. I was going to get it in the middle, but then I realized how more weird that would be to try and eat or kiss people. Cause if it is on the side you have more lip room I guess. And it doesn't look bad on the side and we thought it would.
I am planning on getting my nose done next and maybe gauge my ears but not huge cause thats gross. And get my tattoos 3 of them all within the next year. Thats all I want to do and hopefully it will be completed before I turn 22.
