I finally got my lip pierced!! &&this is how it happened.

But my parents were always totally against it. They wouldn't let me get my ear (that's right...just one) pierced until a couple months ago. (Now it's gauged to an 8)
After begging my parents and trying to persuade them in every kind of way, they said yes, As long as I made a contract with them saying that I'd wear "normal" clothes twice a week and all this other stuff that really isn't important. They're total "goth-o-phobes".
So the day comes and my dad says, "I am not ready for you to get it pierced yet. Let's wait another week." But then he goes to London for 2 weeks, comes back and says "Buddy, I'm too tired. Let's wait until this weekend." Finally, this weekend comes about and he says "We don't have enough time. Let's wait until we're on vacation." I was so sick of waiting!!!
So when we went down to Cape May for vacation, we went to Wildwood and on the boardwalk we went to "The Rock" where my dad filled some paperwork and I sat their nervous as hell. So then the people at The Rock bring me to this other place called Oxygen that's right down the boardwalk from them. So the piercer (he didn't introduce himself or I just can't remember his name) sat me on the table thing and told me to rinse my mouth out with this basic yellow Listerine mouth wash (which pretty much numbed my mouth), sanitized my lip and marked the spot and asked me if I liked where it was. I told him I wanted it more to the center and my dad pretty much shouted "NO! It is fine where it is." So I was kind of pissed but I love where it is still. Anyway he clamped my lip and I started shaking and he said I was psyching myself out. He tried to calm me down which kind of worked but was also annoying because when someone keeps repeating "shhh you're psyching yourself out" over and over it gets old. Then he slid the needl e right through. No pain at all. It just felt hot. So he laid me down on the table and put the jewelry through (still no pain) but a little pinch at the end when he tried to put the ball on the ring. And he also hit my teeth with the ball closing pliers which hurt. On a scale of one to ten the worst pain being ten it was about a 1 or 0.
My dad totally hates it and stuff but I love it!!
So if you want your lip pierced get it done! It doesn't hurt at all.
Ok so now I am back at home. I was really bored and it's been about a week since I got my lip pierced so I decided it was time to change the ring to a half inch segment ring instead of a huge captive bead ring.. Waiting just a week is not really the smartest thing to do, but I really don't care lol. So I take my ring opening pliers and slowly open up the ring...the ball falls right out and then I take out the ring slowly and immediately put in the segment ring. These segment rings are seriously little bastards. I needed help from my mom to get the little pierce on. But it looks and feels way better then the annoying rings with the ball.
My parents are not totally cool with my lip ring. They find it against my religion (I am a Roman Catholic) because they call it "self-mutilation". I don't think it's self mutilation because it does not hurt much at all.
My parents only let me get it done because they say I need to make my own mistakes in life. I really don't think this is a mistake at all though. But now all my friends from church are like "OMG Whtdafxup?"
because this one girl faked a lip ring before and now they need "proof" that it's real so I just pull on it and pretend it hurts a lot (to make them feel bad for doubting me lol)
And also my girlfriend's parents are thinking about letting her get her lip pierced (which would look uber gorgeous on her) so I'm happy about that too. Overall I think this was a good experience and I hope that one day when I'm eighteen I can get snakebites and my septum pierced. So if you're thinking about getting ANY sort of body mod go for it and just keep begging your parents and telling them that you need to make your own mistakes and shit.
