I have wanted my lip pierced for as long as I could remember. I would ask my mom, and every time was a "NO!" So I decided to start stretching my ears, and eventually my mom got more comfortable with me having modifications, so I thought for fun, I would ask about my lip. And that's when I was the most shocked of my life. "Yes." Nothing could prepare me for that.

I was going to get pierced there, and had an appointment ready, but grew impatient, due to the long wait I had to sit through, because they were a new shop, and had not yet been certified. So I decided I would go to my second choice, Mild to Wild. I had gone in and meet the piercer prior my appointment, and everything seemed to check out. The establishment was fairly clean, and was heavy with traffic. They kept busy, because they do good work from what I can tell.
I went in today, Wednesday, at 6:30, but the peircer was on break, so they called her, and she said to come back at 8:30. So I went and ate, and came back. She was sitting there waiting, ready to put a new hole in my lip. I filled out the paperwork, witch calmed me nerves, which were going crazy. and then head into the back.
I sat on the table and I saw all the stuff she was going to use, gloves, jewelry, needle, all set out, and ready for me. This made me even more nervous. She asked me if I ate, and I said yes, she said good, because she didn't want me to have low blood sugar, and have an endorphin crash, because she didn't want to clean up the blood from my head if I fell on the floor. She talked to me about placement, and had my put the dot were I wanted it. And we discussed my next visit in a couple months to get my other side done. That's when one of the tattooist of the shop came in and started talking to me, and telling me that she was a great peircer. She had just recently pierce his septum and his bridge. I asked him if the bridge affected his vision at all, a and he said no, and I was kind of surprised by that answer.
Then she clamped me, and right before she was about to do it, I was like "Please don't hurt me." and she just laughed and stuck me with the needle. And like that, the needle was in, and she was putting the jewelry in.
She put a big ring in, its only a 16g, but its like the size of a nickel around, she said I needed this ring to keep the swelling from becoming too much for the ring and becoming bad. She told me to come back in 5 days to get a smaller ring in place of the current one.
Then she started saying how she thought I was going to have one of those endorphin crashes, and I told her no I wasn't, and I didn't so yay.
I went to the cash register, paid her the $40, and gave her a $15 tip. It was worth every penny, if I had more cash on my, I would have given a bigger tip.
I have read a lot of peoples experiences on here, and just about all of them say something along the lines of "it doesn't hurt, but you feel a weird feeling" and I pretty much agree with it. She stuck me, and I was like "that didn't hurt." I just can't wait for my right side done, to complete my lip piercing experience.
I was pleasantly surprised at this whole experience, there was hardly any pain, no blood, no nothing, just a really cool new piercing. And its been a few hours since I have had the piercing, and still no pain, blood, swelling. And I hope that it stays that way.
And I soon plan to change my ring size to a 14g, because I like the way those look a lot more then how I like my current 16g.and if I ever decide to take it out, I think that scaring would still be very minimal, so I'm not too worried about that specifically.
Morale of the story, go get you lip pierced today. It doesn't hurt, and all the kids will think your rad, especially if you get some snakebites. And I can honestly say it has made me a very happy person, I have had it only a short few hours, but the entire time I have had a giant smile on my face.
