I have wanted my lip pierced for about two years but it wasn't really a big burning desire then it became one and I decided that until I got it I wouldn't stop. I kept asking my mom for three months. Every day after school I would go ask my mom if I could get my lip pierced because she had more control over my dad (wink, wink) and I knew if I could persuade her I could my dad would give in. My mom tried every thing like saying that I could get a tattoo instead but I don't see how that's worse that a little hole in my lip I mean the hole will close up and a tattoo might never go away. I thought about it for a while but I decided id rather have my lip pierced instead and I knew that she had already suggested it so it would be a lot easier to get it later on. I think part of it was that I sat my mom and dad down an told them that I was going to pierce my self if they didn't let me. I wasn't really though because then my lip could get infected and fall off and then I wouldn't have any thing to pierce. Bme was a big help in knowing what to look for in a piercing studio and knowing about the pain and knowing how to know if they were going to do it right. I read so many reviews and experiences I could probably make a five hundred page book.
At A Glance Author Brian Contact valkyriemissile@yahoo.com When Six months ago Artist Jeff Studio Barfield Affordable Tattoo And Piercings Location Colorado Springs,CO They gave in and said that if I studied every day for a half and hour and did more chores that they would let me get it. After a while though I slowly stopped studying so I really didn't lose any thing. I also had to agree to no more piercing and no tattoos but that didn't work out either because I just got my ears pierced an I play on getting a tattoo soon. We went to Shrap Metal but they wouldn't let me get it there because I didn't have state issued id. So we went to Barfield's Affordable Tattoo & Piercing which wasn't very affordable at all since it cost me $35 bucks and Shrap Metal would have cost me $10. So I decided to get it pierced on the left side at 16 gauge. Jeff my piercer took me beck to what he called "The Dungeon". He then made me do Listerine for two minutes, Holy Shit did that burn I thought I was going to die and that I wasn't going to have a lip to pierce after that. Then he gave me a long lecture telling me not to drink screwdrivers and not to drink alcohol and how not to eat citrus fruits and no smoking for a week. He gave me the lecture before I got pierced because he said I wouldn't remember of he did it after I got pierced. Then he told me I had to do Listerine for two minutes every time after I ate. That sucked so bad so I didn't eat that much for about two weeks then I slowly stopped doing Listerine.
After the lecture he made a dot and then decided he didn't like it and made another one and decided he liked it he didn't even ask me if I liked it. Then he grabbed the needle and shoved it through my lip. The pain was pretty much minimal thanks to the fact that my mouth was pretty much numb because of the Listerine. Then we came out of "The Dungeon" and he gave me some H2Ocean piercing spray and I shelled out the thirty five bucks for my brand spankin new lip piercing.
I didn't swell that much probably since I took some ibuprofens. I took one every day for about a week and then I didn't really hurt that much any more. I did try some oranges the day after I got it and they didn't burn or anything. But damn did making out hurt I wouldn't recommend doing that for a while.
I've had my lip piercing for about seven months and It doesn't hurt any more and it looks awesome. The only thing is I got in a fight and it almost got ripped out but now its healed back up so over all it was totally worth the pain and everything else that came with it. Also I think my girlfriend dumped me because of it but if she wants to be a bitch let her. When I take my cbr out it doesn't really leave a noticeable hole but it wants to close up in about eight hours. I think my parents finally grew on it I don't think the like it but they learned to live with it the key is perseverance so if you really want one don't stop no matter who gets in your way.
