When It just happened
Studio Hinckley
Right, now I'm the kind of girl that loves piercings.

I already have 17,tongue, nose, left side of lip, 8 lobes (4 on each side) scaffold on my left ear, both tragus and navel, and decided to update myself, as i had recently taken out my latest piercing (nipple). I spent a while deciding what I wanted, and decided on vertical labret, as there is so many people with the standard labret piercing around, I wanted to be different. After reading on BME from people that it hurt like hell, or didn't hurt at all, I was still half decided on it. I had also decided that it was a treat, as I had decided not to do Beauty Therapy at college, and piercings weren't allowed there, so I decided I should be a rebel and get it done as a sign of truly not going college (very random i guess).

I had rang up my friend (Im saying no names as I get everything free)and he told me to come in on the saturday, but ring up friday night to make sure he can fit me in, as he doesn't book me in ever. I rang up friday night, and he told me to come in on monday as he was fully booked on saturday.

So i jumped on the train from Leicester to Hinckley (the most boring town in the midlands) and payed the good old child fair that I'm not entitled to, but I still get, with my cousin. We walked up to the tattoo studio, and met two friend of my cousins. I went into the studio alone, she stood outside as her friends were smoking.

I went into the back, spoke to my friend, who agreed to do it once he had finished this tattoo of a tiger on a mans leg. So I ran off to the shop to eat some crisps, as I was also having a re-work of my tattoo, and hadn't eaten yet.

As I was waiting, I smoked a few fags whilst waiting, to calm my excitement. I went into the shop, and he said I could sit in the chair.

His receptionist asked if she could come in, as she had never seen a vertical labret being pierced, I agreed, as she is rather cool. My cousin joined us as well, and she held onto my hand as i waited for him to get out the jewelery. I could feel my heart leap into my throat, ''here goes nothing'' I said to my cousin and I seriously thought about turning back (as I did about having a septum piercing 2 years earlier, which I still regret). But I made myself carry on, telling myself it would look so nice when it was done.

He told me he was going to put in a standard labret bar, so i could get used to having the piercing on my lip. I just nodded, numb with excitement. He drew on two dot's to mark where he was going to pierce it. He got it right first time!!! I nodded again, and he moved back the bench so I could lean back, I leaned against the back of the bench, and took a deep breath. There was no turning back now!!

He told me to open my mouth, and I did so. He took hold of my lip, and pushed the needle up from underneath.

It felt so god-damn weird!! I could feel the needle go through the top and bottom skin of my lip! It almost pinched, but felt really really different to my other lip piercing (left side of my lip).

He took out the needle, left the plastic tube in, and I opened my eyes, I could see the plastic tub sticking out, and he grimaced, and moved it a bit. I just looked at him and said ''You twat!'' he just laughed, and inserted the labret bar, and screwed on the ball.

He passed me the mirror, and I smiled, it was perfectly straight, and in the correct place!!

I laughed and smiled, and gave him a big hug!

I went into the other room for my tattoo...and the rest is history!!

That was yesterday, and after proceeding to drink excessive amounts of Vodka that same day, I've bitten my lip several times, which has hurt-a lot!!

But I have a pretty (if swollen) lip, that has two tiny pieces of metal on it, next to my other lip piercing.

After reading on BME how much it would hurt, or how much it wouldn't, I decided to ignore other peoples views and get it done myself, to see how much it truly hurt.

And it didn't!! It just felt really really weird!!

I'm now planning my next one, and we'll see what that will be!
