For years I've wanted my lip pierced but couldn't get it because I worked for a bank. A few months ago I came across a vertical labret and immediately fell in love. At the time I was again working for a company where I couldn't really walk around with any visible piercings. Two months ago I got hire doing a graveyard shift. It's either me alone or me and one other person. So, here is the opportunity I thought to myself!

It was for my nose and at the time they still did the piercing with the gun. My parents didn't like it at all. A year later I got my eyebrow done, then my navel, labret, tongue and nipple. Most of which I've retired.
Anyways, August 11th and called to make an appointment at Black Sun for the next day. I got my tongue pierced at Black Sun by Azl and never had problems. No swelling, bleeding, infections. Nothing. That same night I was out eating chinese food. I had an amazing experience with Black Sun. My sister had her nipple done at BS as well and didn't have problems with it. I had my nipple done elsewhere and had SO many problems with it so I promised myself for any future piercings, it would be at Black Sun.
My boyfriend and I arrive that evening. I'm usually never nervous for piercings because I've done so many. However this time I was nervous as HELL! I didn't understand why. Pierre asked me what I wanted down, checked out my lip and then remembered that he may not have the right sized jewelry. I was so devastated when he said that. I had already psyched myself up and I couldn't imagine leaving without it. Pierre said he would look to see if he had anything. He came back with a slightly longer than normal curved bar. He said it would stick out a little more than a usual vert labret piercing. I said I didn't mind and assured him I would keep it one for the recommended 4 months for healing time.
He took me into the room, put the clamps on, told me to take a deep breath and voila, it was done! I turned to look in the mirror as he went to get the jewelery. I laughed softly as I saw a needle hanging through my lip. It was a slight pinching pain for 1 second and that's it. He put the jewelry in and I was off. I was able to talk no problem, eat later on as well.
Here I am, a month and a half later and I LOVE it. I've done the aftercare by the book. Oral-B 8-10 times a day for the first few weeks and 3-5 times thereafter. Baxedin 3 times a day also. I was told Listerine was way too strong because of the alcohol. There have been little problems here and there. But when I was really worried two weeks ago, I took a visit to Black Sun and was told by Pierre that it was healing beautifully so that really eased my mind.
My top hole has had quite a bit of scar tissue forming (white around the piercing) At times there was a small bubble as well. The bubble is gone and the white ring is minimal.
I had a barely noticeable white ring around the bottom hole also. It seemed like hard dry skin. It has since turned into a small bubble almost like an abscess. I soaked it in Baxedin for a few minutes yesterday and it seemed to have softened up and then a few seconds later, it popped and bled. The piercing itself does not seem infected at all. It doesn't hurt except for that bubble. There is no pus either. If the bubble doesn't go down within the next few days, I'll go have it checked.
Overall though, I'm EXTREMELY happy with the piercing. It's a beautiful piercing and I love the way it looks. I think it's real sexy. My boyfriend likes it also however he doesn't like the fact that we can't really kiss like we used to. We need to be very careful and sometimes when he hurts me just even a bit, I push him away. I can't wait till it's fully healed to change the size and have fun bead shopping. And I can't wait to be able to kiss my boyfriend like I used to!
I would highly recommend Black Sun. It's a beautiful place, the staff is incredible and Pierre is the sweetest guy. He really takes care of you and he knows what he's doing!
