Well here am I writing my second experience for BME about my beautiful Madonna or Monroe which ever you prefer that I had done just two short day's ago. Now it as a last minute deiscon to get this done I had originally planned on getting a tattoo done but decided I would go for a piercing instead. About one week ago I had seriously begun thinking about getting something done like I said I wasn't sure which I wanted more a Madonna or a tattoo, So I did what everyone else would do and called around a few other shop's getting prices for both. The tattoo would of started at $50 and the Monroe would of be $70.00 plus taxes (of course) so I talked to my best friend about it and he agreed

Canada he would pay for it and that I should get the piercing over the tattoo (plus my mom wouldn't freak out so much about this) So I decided I would originally go to first on Granville and this is where it all began.
Saturday morning rolled around and I woke up scared but excited at the same time about getting a new piercing, the last one I had was my nose, which was and still is starting to bore me. So I called up my friend and we made arrangements of where to meet and everything. So a few hours' later I got ready and went at met my friend where we hoped the bus and got off at the first place we would try out. I talked to the Piercer and he explained the procedure to me and then had me sign some paper work and took me to the back. He cleaned me up and went to mark where he thought it should go. And this is where the problem came along, he decided that my Monroe should be up rather high and I didn't agree so I told him I changed my mind, because I didn't see the point in getting a piercing that I wanted lower than he was going to put it.
Me and my friend left the store and went to a couple other's to get a second opinion and everyone agreed that it could be lower and more around the place I had originally wanted so me and my friend took a walk to a couple more places getting prices and what not and we finally agreed that I would go to Adrenaline to have my Monroe pierced. Everyone in the store was surprisingly nice and friendly and very helpful, I had talked to Erin before about this piercing so I already knew her and was comfortable with her. They had me take a look at the jewelry and I decided that I would just get a plain silver ball for the bead. Erin had me take a seat and fill out the paperwork and read over the guidelines for caring for the piercing, and after a few minute's she took the paperwork and told me to head into the back room.
Erin guided me into the Piercing room, which was very close to the front counter and had windows around it so you could see out or others could see in. She had me sit up on the table and I handed my friend my thing's, by this point I was becoming extremely nervous but annoyed as well, I had spent most of the day running around to several places getting price's and what not, So I was very thankful that it was finally getting done. She explained to me what she thought I should know about the piercing and told me the jewelry that she would be putting in and that my lip would more than likely swell a little she then pulled out all the tool's and thing's she would need and placed them on a small table beside me she then cleaned off the space to the right above my lip, since I had agreed to get it on the right side so it wouldn't clash with my nose piercing.
Erin after getting everything ready, pulled on a pair of gloves and marked the spot with a tooth pick then told me to smile a few time's so it wouldn't be to far or right on my smile line, She thought it was good where it was and told me to take a look, I got off the table and looked in the mirror and agreed with her, then asked my friend to take a look as well we all agreed and I got back up the table. This is when I started to become a little more freaked out I couldn't believe I was actually going to do this. I, laid back on the table and felt very awkward, since I had never had to lay down for a piercing, She pulled everything around and close to my head as she pulled out the clamp's and placed them on my upper lip, I quickly grabbed my friend's hand and squeezed it but not that hard. She then explained what he was doing and that she would now be lining up the needle, after a moment she told me that when I exhale she would push the needle through, after soon she told me to breath in and I quickly did holding it as long as I could before she told me to exhale and that last second as I was breathing out I gripped my friend's hand tighter as she pushed the needle through with no struggle at all. And as soon as I breathed in again it was over.
The needle sat in my lip for only a moment before she lined up the jewelry and pulled it through I could some what feel it but mostly the threading going in. She pulled out the needle and placed it in the red trash bin then grabbed the bead and placed it on and tightened it up then told me to sit up as she pulled the table back around as I sat up the first thing I did was look to my left to the mirror it looked amazing from what I could see and it didn't hurt one bit. She cleaned me up then ran over the cleaning procedure once more before sending me on my way, I thanked her very much for a perfect job as I looked at my new piercing up close in the mirror she got it right on the mark exactly and it looked so amazing. I tipped her as much as I could then headed back out to the front counter, where several people asked me about it and I told them it didn't hurt at all, but by now my lip was already starting to swell so it was making it difficult to answer all there question's. My friend paid the bill and then told me if I had any questions or concerns to call or come in, I thanked them and Erin once more for a perfect job and told her I would come back very soon to get something else done.
So all in all this piercing experience was amazing it didn't hurt at all, all it felt like was someone grabbing your lip but not hard or anything, it's true the clamp's where the worst part of it all. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something new done. The cleaning procedure is pretty basic, mouthwash for the inside as if you had your tongue pierced. And for the outside warm sea salt soak's, clean with a no dye no fragrance pump soap on a q-tip, Make sure to clean off all dry matter from the post before turning, and make sure you wash off the soap very well or it will itch, and trust me it does drive you crazy so make sure you clean it all off. Now this is the big thing for the first couple day's make sure to be very careful when eating try to eat small thing's, like pizza, something where you only have to open your mouth very little, I would recommend to NOT try eating a hamburger because you will find that the inside backing will hook under your teeth and all though you will know right away when this happens you still must be very careful and it's a tad annoying to try and unhook it especially on the first two day's, since it's still very tender and swollen. Keep ice on it on the inside and out to make sure swelling stay's at a minimum and plus it keep's you cool on these hot summer day's. It's been three day's now since I got my piercing and believe me it's still very tender and swollen, but mostly on the inside, eat soft food's if possible such as Ice cream or yogurt and try and stay away from Chip's or hard thing's, Keep your mouth clean and brush your teeth this will also help cut down on chance of infection. The first day you clean it you will find more than likely a bit of discharge and it should be white don't worry i'm told this is normal and it happen for my nose piercing as well. Just remember clean clean clean it helps's a lot and make's your piercing much nicer. A word of caution to those who are considering this, Please remember to make sure the marking is Exactly where you want it, thi "\Ãw€ë s piercing can and will change the shape of your mouth if not your whole mouth so make sure your very happy about the marking. So don't worry about the pain it's nothing. All in all I would rate it a 1/10 pain wise. I love my piercing and can't wait to get more, if you need any help or have questions Please feel free to contact me. Happy Piercing!!
