Last year I had to take out my labret piercing, I knew that I would be getting it done again, but next time with titanium. For I had an allergic reaction to the nickel in the barbell. So when I came across a picture of some chick on BME I knew thats what I was to get next. My smiley. I've been checking out random pictures and whatnot, and knew what I liked and what I didn't. So I knew what I what I wanted when I got there. The chick at the desk asked my age and whatnot, so there I was filling out the papers and realizing that I was finally getting it done! I started to get the jitters, and was thinking about all the what if's. There was this chick that passed out right before me getting her bellybutton done (I think thats what it was) and that made me a tad more nervous. I was sitting in the waiting area watching the door, and hoping that every time it opened it wasn't my piercer being ready. But as soon as I sat in the chair I felt a little better about everything.
At A Glance Author Jolene Contact Jolene@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Fred Studio Studio Max Location St. Johns, Newfoundland Tia, my friend who was suppose to get it done with me but couldn't because she didn't get her braces off Monday morning. But at least she came along with me and held my hand. She was laughing and I'd start laughing, but then it was time to chill ax and get poked.
I sat back in the chair, and asked Fred a few simple questions about it..ie: bleeding, swelling, and what if I pass out. He explained everything perfect, as he done the last time he poked me. He sat me back and gave me the choice between myself holding my upper lip up, or the dude that was there helping and learning about piercings he was a pretty cool cat as well. I first choose myself, but changed my mind right away, knowing I would need my hands to be free, and I knew Id get weak or with my stupidity and luck I would let go and mess everything up.
So there I was sitting back, holding Tia with these two cats over me. I closed my eyes and let then go mad. At first when the needle went through I felt it. It was more of a pinch then anything else I was pretty relieve, thinking it was done. But no, he had to take the needle out and put in the hoop, then tighten it, and then get the ball on there. The ball part was the worst by far. Maybe because I was getting really overheated and hot. But there was no blood and that what I was pretty worried about, he said that they don't usually bleed, so that put me at ease, thank goodness. I turned an ugly shade of white and drank some water. He told me not to stand up right away, he knew what i was like with needles and the such, for I was after telling him. After it was done, we all stayed in the room for a few seconds talking about it, and other piercings.
My piercer, Fred was great. They say that everybody has their own favorite tattooist/ piercer and mine would by far be him. I've been to other places and the service wasn't half as friendly or helpful. I'm sticking to Studio thank you very much.
When it was all done and over with I stood up to check it out, and hot it was! I loved it as soon as I seen it, and told Tia to get it done ASAP. The other dude that was there with him, asked if he wanted to take a picture of me, and Fred said yes. I wasn't really into the whole messed up hair just came out of the rain kind of look but hey, what the hell, right. I guess it will be on their hot wall of sexy piercings and ink. Or on their web site maybe. Either way, they took two pictures of me, one of the lovely me, and the other was the piercing itself.
The plan is now to get my labret as soon as I can.
To anybody who is planning on getting this piercing done, don't be afraid or nervous. Its the least painful piercing I have had, my ears and nose were way harder to put up with. Its been a few hours now, and there is no swelling at all and I can speak and eat perfectly. The only thing that is weird about it is, when I lick the very top of it, its like a little air spit bubble up there, and it feels weird. But just lift your lip and its all best kind from there on in.
I love my smiley, and I hope I don't have another allergic reaction to it.
