Ever since I was young teen, I've always wanted both sides of my lips pierced. For the past month I have been planning when I could get it done, but due to Christmas it has always been delayed, until now!

Yesterday I went to get my new piercings, but my piercer was busy, and unable to do them. She told me to come back later that day, but I couldn't make it back. So when I woke up the next morning I planned to get them before work. My only concern was that they would be very sore, and it would be hard for me to talk, and deal with customers. I decided I would at least stop in and ask my piercer what she thought.

I drove past Bodily Charm trying to find a parking space. I had to circle the building a few times and I started thinking to myself; Am I sure I want this? Should I do it another day? However, I found a parking spot and went in. I told my piercer that I had to work later that day, and I was wondering if they would be very sore, and if I would have issues talking. She said she didn't think so. She wasn't busy so I decided to get it done. I walked to the piercing room with her and had a seat in the chair. She handed me a little cup with Listerine in it, to swoosh around in my mouth. The taste of Listerine is quite terrible. After I was finished with the Listerine she began prepping. During the prep work we talked about surface piercings and things like that. I expressed my concerns about the placement of my new piercings, and she made me feel a lot better. She marked the first hole, and then used the caliper to measure the distance from my current center labret to the first hole. Then she used the caliper to mark the second. By this time I was shaking quite a bit because I was nervous. The marking took a fair bit of time which was totally acceptable. She had me look, and I liked the placement. I told her that I did plan to wear rings in them when they were healed, and asked her if we could size the rings right away and I would buy them. She found the perfect rings, and we continued talking a bit more and then she asked if I was ready. I definitely was ready, but I was really nervous. She put the clamp on the first side and the cork below it. She told me to take a deep breath in then exhale. As I exhaled she pushed the needle though. She asked if I was ok, and I told her everything was fine. She followed the needle with the jewelry and then screwed the ball on. She asked me if I wanted to take a break now, and I told her lets just get it over with. So, it was time for my second piercing. She put the clamp on again, with the cork below, told me to take a deep breath in then exhale and before I knew it, it was all ov "\Ãw€ë er with. She put the ball on and asked if I wanted to stay sitting for awhile. I said I probably should just in case. She passed me the mirror to look and I instantly fell in love. Her placement was amazing, and they looked great. She grabbed me a sucker (I felt like such a good boy hahaha) and we started talking about various piercings. She is starting to explore more different types of piercings, and is kind of looking for "guinea pigs". I always think it is good for people to be trying new things as long as they understand the concept, the risk, and feel comfortable doing it. After awhile of sitting I got up, and went to pay. Everyone thought my new piercings looked good, and I was very excited about them. I paid her, and then she took a picture for her portfolio. I stood around and talked with everyone for awhile, and then left.

Tonight my piercings are quite tender and pretty swollen. I accidentally bit one of the labret "studs" while eating, which caused quite a bit more trauma. I can't wait to change the jewelry, and I am so happy I decided to get these piercings.

It has been over a week now since I got my side lip piercings, and they have been healing great. The swelling finally started to go down some, and they are no longer tender. I have no regrets at all! If anyone is considering getting them done, I definitely recommend it. The pain wasn't that bad to get done, and healing isn't too terrible really. You may have some problems eating for the first week, but it's worth it! Thanks for reading, and if you have an IAM account feel free to IM me!
