The first time I saw a scrumper on BME, all I could think was, "That is NOT for me..." That soon changed. I stared to really look into it. I thought, well, it can be hidden from my parental units, it's painless, and there is a rather on the lower side of seriously hurting myself. My original piercer, who doesn't work in a shop, sold me two needles. He said he trusted my judgement on piercing the webbing, and since it was a rather minor piercing he did sell them to me.

That REALLY messed things up, but anyways. I picked my friend Tanya to help me. Tanya is one of those prissy girls who squeals at any blood, so I figured well if she can freak out, I won't have to be nervous. I walked over to my piercers home to give him the money, and pick up the needles. We actually ended up sitting together for awhile and chatting it up. Finally I managed to get home.
First we put the 14g CBR in some Listerene (not best sterilization method I admit), then ran around to bring up my mirror and a chair into the living room. There was a lot of sunlight in there, which would help. We pulled back our hair, got out a plate, Saline Solution, q-tips, and a little measuring cup. I rinsed off the CBR, and put it in the container. After washing my hands of course. Continuing with rinsing out my mouth with Listerene.
Next we wrapped our camera in saran wrap for a little germ control. Tanya washed her hands with soap and water for a few minutes, then sat down on the chair. I washed my hands, and sat down between the mirror and chair. I took a q-tip and lifted up my lip, then dabbed off the saliva in the way. Tanya held up my lip, while I opened the packaged sterile needles. No, I didn't mark where I wanted. I just lined the needle up rather high, and slowly pushed. Eep! I felt a sharp prick and blood started pouring down my lips. AAH! I had read an experience on this, and knew I hit my gum. Quickly I ran do the bathroom, cleaned it up, re-washed my hands then came back for round two. Cleaned off my lip with saline solution, and lined up the needle. Pushing gently it was awesome to be able to feel the needle gliding through my skin. As soon as the "tent effect" started it hurt.
I wasn't surprised by this, it was the same for my Reverse Navel. But I kept pushing, and holding up my own lip! Every few minutes, Tanya would take a picture while squirming in disgust and excitement. Finally the needle was through, we took some pictures, and I rinsed the jewelery in the container with Saline solution. I hooked the CBR onto the needle and pushed it through. It was easy. Getting the ball on was a challenge though.
I even went dancing that night, and it was fine. Even though the ring was a little bit too large, and it came really low. But,, it didn't last. I woke up the next day and it hurt like you don't even know. I could barely move my upper lip. I just thought it was probably sore from hitting my gum, but the pain didn't stop. I actually had to change it the third day, to a straight barbell because I had to hide it from some relative. But I had already told my mom. I was putting in the barbell (this is not good to do) and I lost the hole, but I just pushed it again my web and there was the hole. Weird, was all I could think.
The next day, day four, the ring was still hurting so bad. I tightened it though a little bit. The pain was almost unbearable. That night, I was checking it out in the mirror, and OH MY! I almost cried. My poor webbing was almost in half. It turns out, for the past three days it had been VERY swollen, and I hadn't missed a TINY bit of the webbing, but half of it. Uh oh! So I figured, okay, it has to come out. I sat there for 20 minutes trying to get the ball off. It just wasn't coming! I felt like crying. It hurt, I was tired, and I wanted it out. I loved my smiley to death, but my webbing was going to rip right off my gums.
Finally, I wedged a pair of tweezers in the CBR, and held it in place while opening the tweezers. The ball fell off right away, and I took the CBR out. Right away my lip felt better. I had a nice shower, cleaned it, and a month later it is healed up nicely.
Wow, I loved my Scrumper so much with only four days of it. I have a friend with a pair of clamps I get to borrow. This time when it is done, it will be properly. And before I do it I'm going to buy a small curved barbell, something for an eyebrow probably. It wasn't just the CBR size, but the weight and my fault at missing 'part' of my webbing. It shall be back!
Warning: Don't do this unless you are totally sure of the risks. You could get an infection, or something worse. You could rip your webbing in half, or many other possibilities.
