Ever since I found BME I wanted piercings. I know for a fact that I am addicted to piercings and I am slowly adding more and more to my collection. For the moment I have my ears pierced 4 times,my tongue web pierced, my hand web pierced, and my belly button pierced.

All of my piercings have been done by me. I have been wanting A new piercing for quite some time. After searching BME I decide on the lip ring pierce. My other piercings had been done with jumbo safety pins, but it took forever to go through the skin. To make things a bit easier on myself then I had previously done, I went to by local piercings store and got a 10 gauge needle. I had already had a 14 gauge CBR.

The first time I pierced my lip it was with a 18 gauge and then trying to get a 14 gauge into it was so painful.. So, I was stuck wearing a ear ring. It not at all what I wanted .

Now, if I had anyway I would have gone to a profession Yet, I didn't have away and piercings are something I like doing myself.I waited for a night where I would have time to do it. I didn't want to rush through it at all. At the time I was at my friend's house ,so I decide it was better then my own home. In my own home my father was home and I didn't want him to walk in on me.

First I made sure I had something to eat. Eating before hand is always smart. Then while my close friend pierced her ear, I got my studio ready. Being clean is something that is a must do. I have seen to many people get infections because they didn't take some time to clean up. So, yeah back to the piercing. Taking the needle and CBR I cleaned it with boiling water and rubbing alcohol. Then I brushed and cleaned my mouth with mouthwash. Sitting down on the bed I decide that I was ready.

I checked out the placement and started to push. My friend sat there looking at if she was going into shock. She didn't think I would do it. Now, I had pierce my lip before ,so I knew what to expect. Has I pushed I felt it go through the first layer. I knew this would take forever. Now, in other experiences they talk about feeling it go through each layer. Since the pushing was so slow I felt every layer twice as long. The skin on my lips are tough. The pain was not that bad. It was like a small piercing over and over again. The pain never changed how much it hurt. I just sat there and softly said ouch. A little later I felt the tip pressing on the inside of my lip. That feeling is so cool. To rub your tongue on that little piece of needle. Well, finally I got it to push through. Then I tired to guide the needle out and it was stuck. Most likely because it was swelling. I forced it to come out and the 14 CBR fed through nice. I cleaned up and went to bed.

By the next morning the swelling was unbelievable. But, I put ice on it. In the next couple of days it went down. It looks nice.

The aftercare is easily. I rotate between salt soaks, mild mouthwash and I brushed my teeth daily. I try to remember to clean it. My parents really freaked out ,but I think they will let me keep it. Yet, my dad say that it looked good. He hates piercings, but I think he has given up on me with that. People don't really notice it. I mean where I live its not anything of shock value. But, it doesn't matter it for me not them.

It has been three weeks since I have had it pierced. It looks good. No pus or anything has ooze from it since the first couple of days. The hole for the first two weeks had a bit of crust.

I really love it and I hope that it works out ok. I play with it must mostly when I think about it. If I could of went to a profession I would of. But, I had no parents to sign and no money to pay. I also feel a lot more connect to the piercings I do. Let me say it is a lot safer and easier to go to a pro., but if you have your mind set on doing yourself try to know about what your doing. BME is a great place to find out about what you are interested in. Good Luck!
