For my sixteenth birthday I planned to get a labret piercing. I had waited so long for this. I had a job that allowed me, and my mom was fine with it. My dad wasn't. After getting into a fight with him, and taking out my tongue piercing, my mother drove me to Artistic Impressions where I was going to meet some people and take a cab to my party after my labret piercing was done. The piercing went fairly uneventfully. My lip was marked, clamped, and pierced. The jewellery was inserted with a bit of ripping from the threads and I had my labret piercing that I had wanted so much. The next day I went to my first job and refused to cover it, and gave my notice. They didn't mind at my other job.

It had its trials. My piercer at the time, Lee, decided it was off-centre and she had to redo it for me. I had two friends with me, so she marked it, we all agreed it was centered, clamp, pierce, off centre. I wandered around with a paper towel to my face for a bit then we redid it. It's still off centre and crooked but its better than the first two attempts. Lee was nearly in tears and I felt bad for her. I had seen other labret piercings she had done and they turned out fine. I was just cursed.

My aftercare consisted of Listerine and antibacterial soap. The first attempt was on my birthday. That means I was drinking. The bead came off and three drunken idiots were trying to get it back on. The most sober of us screwed it on, and I tightened it well. The same thing happened with the new piercing, except I lost the bead, so I took one off of a barbell in my navel and left it like that until I got home from school.

Work decided to ban facial piercings, and I was pissed. I'd usually leave it in when my boss wasn't there and if she came I would take it out. Somebody commented on my piercing in the comment box, and I got in trouble. We were allowed nostril studs however, and piercings in our ears. The cooks could have facial piercings because they didn't deal with customers. I didn't think that was fair.

In order to get a full time job over the summer I had to take my labret stud out. I wasn't very happy. My boss said it was so nice to see me without metal all over my face. I left it out for three weeks and it drove me nuts. I finally put a normal earring stud in the almost-two year old hole. I then used a stock pin (like a kilt pin, but has a horse on it) to taper it and put my 14ga stud back in, happily. At work I would just take the bead off. I could go days without having any problems putting it back in.

I bought what I was told a 10ga clear plug. I was going to use that as a retainer, but I couldn't get it through. If the piercing was straighter it would have been easier. I gave up and just took out the stud for work. I was looking for a new job so I just gave up on it and took it out before work and put it in after work.

Finally, I got the letter. The one that says I qualified for ODSP and they would give me $708/month. That was more than I was making at my shitty full time job as a car hop. (Note that this excludes tips.) However, there wasn't constant harrassment and horrible people to work with. I started doing website design and photography for extra cash. I no longer had the stress of working and going to school at the same time. So what did I do? Got pierced the day I got my cheque.

I don't know why, but I started stretching my piercings one night. I picked up a 10ga ½ ? ring that had been in my nipple and passed it through the hole easily. I, at times, took it out for a few days to let the hole shrink so I wouldn't spit or whistle through it. I kept the 10ga CBR in it for a couple of weeks, and then stretched my septum to 8ga, then to 6ga. I put the 8ga from my septum (flat backed bullet stud) into my labret and secured it with an o-ring. It was 9ga though, and my 8ga o-rings didn't fit, so after I stretched my septum to 6ga, I used that stud, which was slightly larger than 6ga. (Note: I bought the jewellery from the same place). I used a 7ga stud, and then put the 6ga in.

The feeling of stretching wasn't that bad. I never used tapers. I just used lube and popped the jewellery through. Occasionally my lip eats the back, no matter how loose I have the o-ring. It's at 6ga right now and I'm not sure if I want to go bigger. The only 4ga jewellery I have un-used is a tunnel and tunnel's are only fun for a little while in labrets.

Hope you enjoyed my story. Stretch safe..
