Ok, well about a month ago I decided that I wanted to get my cheeks pierced. I called my piercer and she said to come one down and she would hook me up. Well I went in the shop walked to the back and sat in a chair. She prepared all the tools and cleaned my cheeks up really good. She also took the needles she was going to be piercing me with and bent them slightly to make the procedure easier. Then she went on to marking were the piercings would be, this took awhile to get them just right. When my cheeks were finally marked and everything was ready to go, she clamped my left cheek, told me to take a deep breath and she pushed the needle right through. It didn't hurt at all, all I felt was the pressure of the needle pushing on my cheek. She slid the jewelry in, tightened the ball and my left cheek was done. I took a look at it in the mirror and it looked great, I was very happy about the way it had tuned out. Now it was time to move on to my right cheek. The procedure was jus t the same and it turned out just as good as the left, and perfectly lined up with the left. I left the shop with two great new piercings.

Eating was hard at first but I became adjusted pretty easily. After a few days the healing was just about gone. A few weeks went by and everything was going great with them until one day I went to clean them and realized that the flat backs on the inside of my mouth were beginning to become imbedded into my cheeks. I called my piercer, but she was out sick and only her husband, the tattoo artist at Sleepy Hallow was there. I explained to him what was going on, he told me that it was normal for them to become imbedded just a little bit, but he said to come to the shop and he would check them out anyways. When he saw my cheeks he quickly realized that what was going on was not normal, he took me to the back and was going to change the jewelry but couldn't find anything longer than what I already had in. He told me that they should be ok until the next da y and to come back and Marry, my piercer, would be back.
I went down to the shop the next day. She took me to the back, I sat in the chair and she had to take the jewelry out. Luckily she had some longer studs that her husband did not know about and she replaced my old jewelry with those. These were much more comfortable but she told me that they would be to long and I would only be able to wear them until we could find some jewelry that would fit better. She was right, the jewelry she put in was to long and I was constantly biting on them and when I went to sleep they would rub the inside of my mouth and I would wake up with sore gums. I soon learned how to control the biting and sleeping on my back solved the problem with the jewelry rubbing my gums at night. My piercer called a body jewelry company and requested that they make some custom sized posts for my cheeks. They said that they could do it but it was very exspensive. Thirty-three dollars apiece. I'm no rich boy so I said that I couldn't get them. My piercer asked me if I could deal with the jewelry I had in now until she could find some one who could make the custom jewelry for cheaper, I said yes. She told me to search the net for some people who could do custom work for not such a high price. I searched around on the net and finally found a company that could do it and it wouldn't cost me a fortune.
I got the measurements for the jewelry I would need from my piercer and I told the company what I would need. I ordered the two new pieces of jewelry and placed them in my cheeks. They were a perfect fit. They are very comfortable, not to long and not to short. I never bite on them and they don't rub my gums and bother me while I am sleeping at night. It has been a little over a month since I got them pierced and I love them. I am always getting complements on them and im glad I finally got the right size jewelry because if I had found some jewelry I would have had to take them out for in fear of damaging my mouth. Cheek piercings are great, so if you are thinking abut getting them, go for it! But make sure you get the right size jewelery the first time!
