Hello everyone, my name is Kevin; however I am better known as Acid0G. Some of you might have read my experience with my eyebrow piercing. As I said in that experience, I planned to get a labret piercing. Approximately 2 weeks ago I decided it was time. Here is my story!

I only have 3 classes right now because I've dropped all of my other classes. Lately I've had to deal with a lot of stress and, depression. I won't give my life story here, so back to the experience. When I woke up, I had no big plan of getting my labret piercing. It was just another day, it was in the back of my mind but I didn't plan to do it. I went to school, and came home for lunch. I have a 2 hour lunch break so this gave me some time to think. I ate lunch quickly and flew out the door; it was time for another piercing! I pulled into the parking area in front of Bodily Charm, and a man was going in at the same time. Judy talked to him for awhile and then came to help me. I asked her if she was willing to do a piercing right away and she agreed.
Let me tell you about the shop's comfort level. It's a very nice environment, she often has her children in there, and they play games on the computer and whatnot. They also have a couch and coffee table in there. On the walls she has slanted shelves which are homes to all of her jewelry. She recently decided to sell some clothing, as well as some hemp jewelry. I don't imagine she makes a lot of money there, which is sad.
Back to the story, I set my jacket on the couch and went in to the comfy piercing chair. She got all of her supplies ready, and gave me a cup full of mouthwash to rinse with. Let me tell you, original Listerine has to be the worst tasting sh*t ever. I rinsed with it, and she talked to me about jewelry. I had a choice of 14 gauge standard or 16 gauge spike. I decided I would go with 14 gauge standard barbell. She told me to sit forward and she cleaned the area with an alcohol swab. She then marked the area. I took a look in the mirror and it looked perfect. Again I started to get a little nervous, however the sound of Hot Wheels playing in the background helped to ease some tension. She grabbed the clamp, the needle and a cork. She clamped my lip, and put the cork underneath it. I could tell she was having some trouble trying to juggle all of these tools, and she apologized because I had seen the needle many times. I told her I didn't mind and I did want to see it. She lined it up and told me to take a deep breath, then to breathe out. Before I knew it, I felt the sharp pain of the needle piercing my lip. Once it was through, she grabbed the jewelry. When she was putting it in, she slightly tugged on my lip, ouch that hurt. She warned me the cork with the needle would drop onto my shirt and that it wouldn't hurt me since it was in the cork. I felt it drop and the jewelry was through. She stepped back and took a look. She grabbed me the mirror and I looked, it looked good! It was time for the typical aftercare lecture. She went over everything, in great detail before I left the piercing chair. I walked out of the room, grabbed my jacket and her boyfriend commented that he thought it looked good and he wanted to get his done again. Apparently his fell out in his sleep, obviously he never tightened it before he went to bed. I paid for the piercing and we talked for a few minutes about aftercare again before I left.
I jumped in my car and went back to school. A lot of people commented on the new piercing, most of the comments were good. I really liked it, and I could care less what other people think. Once I was finished school, I had to go straight to work. Everyone at work seemed to like it, which is good. It was now 9:30pm and my parents still didn't know about my new piercing so I had to go home and show them. This was the worst part of the whole thing. I got the typical "I'm disappointed in you" reaction from them. I don't understand it, but the words "I'm disappointed in you" hurts a lot more than if they would have just said "that looks so stupid". My mom was mad about the piercing for a few days before she finally loosened up about it. Lately she has been fine with it!
It has been 2 weeks since my piercing, and I'm still happy with it. My only complain is that my bottom lip is too big. When I'm frowning, you can barely see the piercing. I wish Judy would have pierced it a little further down, but at the time you couldn't tell. I don't blame her at all, she did a good job.
