Ok, so anyone who has piercings (one or more than one) know that they are addictive. My first piercing was my nostril, which is to common so then I moved to my labret which then started to attract more people. And of course the tongue is a given to get pierced. I also had my eyebrow done but that wasn't working with me and migrated in about 3 weeks. Here I am, 15 with 3 facial piercings. Not a lot of people around here are excited about it. But still the majority of the people walking around can be found with belly, tongue, and nose rings. I think it gets a little boring...
At A Glance Author Kerrie Contact anticrombie_icp_juggalette@yahoo.com When Three months ago Artist I think his name was John... Studio Skin Kreations Location NJ Around the middle of last year I decided I wanted a new piercing. Something to even my face out a little. I picked the monroe. I think it's really pretty and adds to the lip features. Last January I had my monroe done, but the asshole used a nostril stud to pierce it, which is ridiculous, who does that?? That fell out in the healing process and I never got around to getting it done again. Mostly for the reason that I didn't want to spend another $40 for a hole I'm going to lose.
Again, I felt very uneven and needed something more. About two or three months ago I told myself to get my monroe done again. Of course my mom said yes as long as I paid for it. Some people may think having it fuck up once is bad so why do it again, but I was determined.
I was a little mad when my mom and I first arrived to the shop because it hadn't opened yet and I wanted to get pierced now! But shortly after John came along.
We walked into the place I'd seen only once before, mostly because I didn't trust them that much but is cheaper than most places around. We went threw the usual what are you getting done, and parental things. I told the him I wanted to get it pierced with a 16g labret stud this time because when he previously pierced it fell out.
I was surprised to see no one in the shop, because it is usually crowded. But I wasn't going to complain because I didn't want to wait in any stupid line anyway.
Seeing the room with the brightly colored walls gave me a high because I knew soon I would have a new piercing! So the guy took out his supplies and put his gloves on and all that sanitary shit you're suppose to do. I was getting nervous.
Last time when I got it done he pierced it from the outside in, this time he was going to do it from the inside out. He clamped my lip after marking a place he thought would be sufficient, I agreed. He asked me if I was ready and I said yes, in a second a needle was being pushed threw my lip. Ouch! This hurt, I have no idea why!! It didn't hurt before. He had a hard time getting the ball on to because it was extremely small. (A 16g ball) A lot of people say that getting the jewelry put in is the most painful part but I don't think that was true.. for this piercing at least. All the fiddling he did with the ball didn't really effect me either.
I looked in the mirror and I was so happy! Well, it did look the same as last time but I loved it then too. After getting up he only charged me $30 due to the first time it was pierced. Which was a pretty good deal because normal places charge at least $60.
I'm an overly clean person so instead of the normal cleaning it twice a day, I cleaned it almost 6 times a day. Which as many know can cause infection by itself. And yes, mine did get infected. It swelled up the next day mostly at night but during the day it would go down and it would be easy to turn. The swelling on and off only lasted for about 2 weeks, then it was fine. The infection didn't help it though. But that went away with the swelling. I was so happy when it was nice looking. It did peel an awful lot to. I think from using a tissue to clean it instead of q-tips.
It's been like 2 or 3 months and it's healed very nicely. I don't think I'm going to change the stud for a while though. It will occasionally get caught on my teeth though which is bad and hurts sometimes. It also tends to get some negative comments, but more good then bad.
But anyway, the monroe is a great piercing. I really think it's flattering to a face, so if you're thinking about getting it.. go with that!
