I began to grow tired of my old friend, the lip ring. It was good while it lasted but it is seemed as if I just out I began to grow tired of my old friend, the lip ring. It was good while it lasted but its seemed as if I just out grew it. So I thought about it. I decided to retire it, but I still wanted a facial piercing. I just need something new, something fresh. But what... what could take the place of my lip ring. I pondered on it for a while. I've always been very found of Monroe's but I have held back on it. I thought two facial piercing might be just a little too much at once. To make along story short I took out the lip ring a decided on a Monroe on my left side of my upper lip.

My mom and I decided that about three on Saturday would work out perfectly.
That Saturday I was to meet my boyfriend at his house for lunch then to meet my mom afterwards. Well on the way to Kyle's (my boyfriend) house I got caught in this construction on a road I had not been through before. Not quite understanding what was going on with the road I drove cautiously. Once again, leaving out the meaningless details, I get pulled over for disobeying a turning signal. What the hell.... I know. What a horrible start to the day
I get to Kyle's house a little bit late but am surprised with a wonderful lunch. As three closely approached I called my mother just to double check that we were still meeting with her. To make a bad day worse, she decided she's was too busy to meet me; she had to go to Wal-Mart as if it was not open twenty four hours a day. Oh, woe is me, being just two months shy of eighteen. After some wining and convincing along with some good ol' begging she decided to meet me (thank you god!)
My mom and I arrived at the piercing studio at the same time oddly. As I walked in the door you could tell that this studio is an extremely reliable sanitary establishment. By the people working there, the smell, and the over all appearance. In fact all of my piercing work as been done there also by the same guy, Chris. A wonderfully nice guy I might add you.
Well my mom and I filled out the paper work and etc... Then we are lead to a room in the corner on the far right. As you walk in you can smell the sanitarian's. The most pleasant smell when your going to get holes poked in you!
Chris asked me have a seat on the doctor-ish bed thing... I'm not sure what they are called. Next to the sink he has four plastic small cups, two filled with mouthwash, and two filled with soap. First he asked that I rinse my mouth for 30 seconds. After doing so I hopped back on the table and he explained the process to me. Having my lip done prior to this is was mostly what I had heard before. Then he cleaned my upper lip with soap and placed some purple dots on my lip to get the placement right, after several tries, it turns out the place I wanted it was on top of a vein so my plans were changed a bit and it was moved to the other side of my mouth. No big deal. Boy am I thankful that he was know ledged in what he does! After a few more purple dots, it was finally in the perfect spot, just on the right side instead of the left. Chris placed the clamps on my lip told me to a take several deep breathes and shoved the needle through my lip. After a second he popped in the jewelry and screwed it on. I was so excited; I hopped right up to look in the mirror. I loved it!!
Afterwards he explained to me on how to clean and how to take care of it properly then told me after the swelling went down to come back and he would change it to a shorter stud. I paid. I tipped. Then I was on my way with my lovely new piercing.
The studio I have gotten all my piercing at is called Earth Borne Studios in Evansville, IN. It is a wonderful highly regarded place in the area, and all of the employees are highly educated on what they are doing and explain everything to you in detail. It may seem pricey at times, but remember you get what you pay for.
