I had been trying to persuade my mom and dad to let me get a piercing for a long time. But i couldn't make my mind up, first a navel and then a tongue. They totally would not budge on their answer about the tongue but agreed to the navel, but then I changed my mind...

So we went searching for a good looking piercing shop. We found 2, one where my dad got a new tattoo, the other where I was too scared to speak... The man did not seem too friendly, I think he was too interested in reading his paper and listening to the buzzing sound from the tattoo gun thing (I don't know the name of) as there was another man in blatant sight tatooing a mans leg.
The other shop didn't even have a labret stud in sight, just the usual navel rings, ear rings and nose studs. I was so disappointed! On the last day, my mom had a suprise for me, she said "on monday I'll take you to Oasis and you can get your "thing" done there."
So, on Monday morning, my mom wakes me up and she's like "are we goin' or what?" So I got ready and ate some food, incase my lip swelled up and I couldn't eat for a while.
We went into Oasis and were greeted by a girl and two men. My mom told them what I wanted and the woman had me pick out a jewelled ball to put on my labret stud. (This was a good idea, havin' a ball would stop me wanting to change it too soon, in my opinion anyways). It was real cheap which I was pleased about, around £18 for everything. My mom also had to fill in some paperwork.
I sat there for a good half hour watching people going in and out, for such a small place its pretty busy. A girl who'd arrived a few minutes before me eventually come out with her tongue pierced. It looked sore but she said it was fine, which put me at ease.
Darren came out and called me in. I wanted to turn around and walk out, either that or pooh myself . I got into the room which was really clean and everything. I sat down on the black leather bed thing, while he explained the procedure, he told me it wouldn't hurt. I was really scared still and was looking around the room, I musta looked like I was ignoring him cos he said " are you paying attention?" OOPS..
He wouldn't pierce me until I was calm, something to do with blood pressure rising and stuff so I calmed myself down. He wiped my face with some iodine stuff and marked the spot, it was just right. I turned to him and he picked up the needle, HELL that was scary, it was huge! I shut my eyes and wouldn't open them. Then he sprayed something on my lip and i felt a slight sting. I was like "he could have told me that stuff might sting!"I opened my eyes and I saw a cute little ball on my face.
I was shocked, it was over so fast, and so painless. I thought I was gonna cry when I got in there, but my eyes didn't even water! I musta gone a deathly white cos my mom asked me if I was alright, i was fine so he let me go with the after care instructions.
I was sooooo happy with myself and with him for doing such a brilliant job.
I got home and my little brother loved it, now he wants his tongue pierced (minus the needles and pain... he may have too wait another 10 years since he;s only 6 ) My 2 other brothers liked it aswell, my dad was a completely different story. The first thing he said was "I knew you should of had your nose pierced!" Way to go with the encouragement dad!
I'd been home about...... 10 minutes at the most when the phone rang. It was my best mate asking how it went. I was finding it a bit hard to speak as my lip was kinda swellin up. I iced it up good since I was planning on going out that night. When i finally did get out, everyone was so shocked. My best friends dad said to me " when are you gonna pop that shiny zit on your face?" I would have laughed but that was painful aswell.
I really like my new piercing, I think it suits my face and makes me atleast 3 times cuter!
Good luck and happy piercing, I hope I helped someone
