.So about a month ago now, I woke up and was looking in the mirror and decided I looked really "plain" and I wanted something to go with my labret piercing which I got a year ago.. so I was wondering what and decided on a madonna because it is a very feminime piercing and it looks very beautiful on people. I'd also been reading this BME site and read experiences and it didn't sound painful and the pictures people have posted are so pritty. So I asked my Mum and suprisingly she said yes straight away. Because I'm 15, I had to drag my Mum with me as the legal age is 16.

We went into Cambridge that morning and I was really excited yet a little anxious because although I've had my labret pierced, I still really really hate needles. When we got into Cambridge, I was thinking of all the piercing studio's that there are and I remembered Tattoo Crazy because I wanted the left side of my lip done a while back but because I'm not 16, they wouldn't pierce me without my Guardian.

My Mum, Brother and I went inside and asked the price of it, the Guy told me that it would be 30pounds including a change down *they put a longer stud in to allow for swelling but when it's healed, they'll change it to a smaller one free of charge*. After we'd got the price, we went to a small cafe round the corner because I knew from previous experience that eating would be slightly difficult on the first day.

After I'd eaten, we went back to Tattoo Crazy and the Guy said I could get pierced straight away. I was quite impressed with the cleanliness of the place which was comforting. A Girl led me to a sterile room where she told me to sit on the Dentist chair and she looked and explained that she would pierce me along the crease where there were no nerves or anything. I asked my Piercer a few questions before she pierced me, like "Will it clash against my teeth?" or "Will it become irritated quickly due to the area it's in?". She was really nice and answered my questions which were "no" and "after eating spicy foods or smoking etc, just clean using the aftercare" *which she explained later*

She didn't numb the area, just cleaned it with some antiseptic stuff. I was a little worried about her not numbing it as I'm such a wuss but I didn't say anything. She then made a dot on my face and asked if it was okay..it was perfect. I was told to take a deep breath and then she put the needle through. Honestly, it didn't hurt. You can feel the needle go through but it's painless. Quite suprising seen as the area hadn't been numbed. I had my eyes closed while she put it through and I thought she was done so I opened my eyes and saw a huge needle sticking out of my face, hehe. She told me that she was then going to put the stud in and that I would feel a sharp pinch. I did and that was the most painful part of the piercing which again, wasn't really that bad. There was a little blood but nothing drastic, she just cleaned it up with the antiseptic pad. She explained the aftercare to me which is mixing a salt and warm water solution and cleaning the area with a Q-Tip and th en rinsing my mouth out with it. I didn't use the salt water method though, I rinsed my mouth with TCP which is a antiseptic thing and it doesn't cause me any irritation but it may be different with other people.

I thanked my piercer and left and shocked my Brother who didn't seriously think I was just randomely going to get pierced. At first it's a little hard to get used to because it's a piece of metal in your mouth that was never there before but cleaning your teeth is okay and painless..just eating that night was a bit painful because I kept catching it on my teeth.

The next day, my piercing had gone back down to it's normal size - though it didn't swell much, just a little.

I love my new piercing. It's very pretty and feminime - just what I wanted. Everybody whose seen it loves it aswell :o) It's fun to play with and I've had absolutely no problems with it at all. I recommend Tattoo Crazy for anyone wanting to get pierced in the Cambridge area because they were friendly and the place was sterile and nice to get pierced in.

I recommend a madonna to anybody because it's minimum pain and it looks so good! Happy Piercing :o)
