A little about me first. My name is Eric, I am 19. I don't have any tattoos yet, soon though. I have both my lobes done, with 0's in them. I have both nipples done with 8's in them, and I have my tongue pierced, with a 0 in it. Looking to go to a double zero in my tongue one of these days, as well as a bit bigger in my lobes. Looking to get a septum piercing too, as well as some other ear projects.

I was getting tired of the ones I have now. So I started looking around, doing some research, on BME, and I came across the labret piercing page. Something about it just caught my attention. So I read some stories on it, decided it can't be that bad of a piercing, so I made some arrangements to get it done.
Well, my girlfriend had stayed the night before. So we woke up about 10 o'clock, got ready etc., than made the call to make sure they were open. So we hop in the car and head to The Abyss, the best place around here. Plus Leon is the piercer there and he is a great piercer, and a good guy in general. So we get to The Abyss, talk to the lady that works there for a bit, and waited for Leon. Than he shows up, so we talk to him, and tell him what I wanted done etc., than had to wait for a bit more for him to clean up and so on.
The time came. He called me in his room. We talked the piercing over a bit. Then he put the infamous purple dot on my lip after I had told him the general area of where I wanted it. He showed me the dot, I nodded my head, agreeing on the placement. Then came the little blue apron, with the necklace thing to hold it on. Then he gave me some Listerine to rinse my mouth out with, spit that back in the cup. Yuck got to hate the taste of that stuff. Then he took the alcohol pad and cleaned my lip and the general area with it, then dried the inside of my mouth out a bit. Next he got all the stuff arranged, and ready of the procedure. He asked me to hold the blue apron where his fingers where, so the needle didn't drop to the floor etc., so I held it where he said.
Next came the forceps. He clamped them on, look at the inside of my lip, then the outside, again and again, till it was all lined up right. Next he grabs the needle. Here come the breathing exercises. "Breath in through your nose", he says," then out through your mouth." As he's looking it all over again for the last time. I take another breath in and exhale, and knowing how Leon pierces, it always comes on the third exhale. So I exhale through my mouth, expecting the needle to pierce my lip, and sure enough it goes through with no problem. Not too painful. Then comes the jewelry, that was probably the most painful part of the piercing. So he slips the jewelry through, slips the forceps off, and screws the ball on, and as quick as it started, it was over.
After a minute, and the aftercare instructions, he told me to go take a look at it in the mirror. So I went over to the mirror and admired my new addition. He had also told me to some back in a week so I could get the jewelry changed out to a shorter bar. Perfection, just as I had expected from Leon. So we paid and were on our way.
Being in a hurry, and excited, I didn't get a chance to look at the aftercare sheet he gave me, and he must have been in a hurry as well when he pulled it out of the folder. So I'm driving down the road, and hit a stop light, and decide to look at my aftercare sheet real quick, to see if had to pick anything up, like Glyoxide, etc. The first thing I notice, it says "Genital Piercing After Care Sheet", I was like what the hell? So I called Leon and asked if he was just trying to play a joke or what, he said it was just an accident. The two aftercare sheets are right next to each other and he grabbed the genital one on accident.
It's a little weird to get used to. The first time I tried eating, the disc on the back of the labret ring kept rubbing up and down on my tooth. It felt weird at first, but I am used to it now, and I am sure it will be better once I get the shorter bar put in.
It's now a week later and the piercing is doing fine. No pain. No discomfort. No migration. Lots of compliments :-)
