I once again needed a piercing fix. So I had decided on a Labret. I liked the look of it and knew I had to have it. I had even went so far as to getting small beads and putting them on my lip just to see what it would look like on me. I like it so I said that for sure was going to be my next piercing.

As I was driving my kids to school on that day I told them this was the day I was getting my lip done. My daughter cried and said no Mom please don't. She was 11 at the time of this piercing. My son said it was cool and couldn't wait for me to get it done so I could come back to school and show him. He was 6 at the time. So I waited until the shop opened at 11. Then I went and made my appointment, paid the deposit. I left the shop and started the countdown to when I could return. The closer it got to my appointment the more I could hardly wait. The rush I was feeling just from the anticipation was crazy. I was driving my husband crazy because every five minutes I was looking at my watch. Every five minutes I was also saying "It's an hour and 30 minutes until I get my piercing." But of course the time was going down with every comment from me.

It was finally time to get my new piercing. All the standard things happened. Picking the jewelry out. Going over the procedure. Time for me to ask questions or chicken out. Hell no never chicken out!! Keith putting on his gloves. Taking the needle out of the autoclave bag. Then I had to rinse my mouth out with listerine. My God that stuff tastes like shit. He clamped my lip. My pulse was racing so hard by this time it was great. Then I was told to take a deep breath, in and out, in and out, in and stab. Felt that needle making it's way through my flesh. All I could think was oh so cool. Keith then put the jewelry through and tightened the ball on. I looked in the mirror and loved what I saw. Another piece of metal through my body. So cool.

After I was done admiring my new look I had to listen to the speech. The how to care for and clean my new piercing. He does a great job explaining what to and not to do. Telling me about how long it would take for my new piercing to heal. To be careful taking my shirts on and off.

When it was all done and over with I had to go to my kids school and show them. It was lunch time there so the outside playground teacher came up to me and said my son was going around telling everyone I was getting my lip pierced. Before she noticed it she was aking me if I really did. Then she noticed it and was in shock from what I could tell. She said to me "Oh my you really did it." My son saw me and started to bring all of his friends over to see me and my new piercing. He thought I was the coolest mom. I then went to my daughters class to show her. Oh she was so mad and wanted me to leave. Funny thing is a few of her friends though it was cool. I guess maybe I should let you all know that my children go to a Catholic school where almost evry parent there doesn't believe in what I do.

I have had piercings done before by him and would continue to keep coming back to him. I like the way he sits there and talks to you before, during, and after the whole thing. Before he starts he makes sure that this is what you want. Answers any questions you may have. Talks to you during the whole thing. Makes sure you are doing good and not going to pass out. If you want he will let you know when he is about to put the needle through. I personally don't want to know when it is going to be put through.

It has now been 8 months since I had my Labret done and I still love it to this day. I have found my new addiction and can't wait to satisfy it when I feel like it. I have had two more piercings since this one was done. But those are other stories to come. I am getting the piercing bug again to go get more done. Who knows one day I may actually run out of places to pierce. Doubt it though.
