Ah yes here I am writing about how stupid a 17 year old with too much time on her hands can be! I love piercings, have since 8th grade, and finding BME only made things better for me and worse for my poor dad! Theres several things I want to do but I cant (dad again but I think hes starting to bend), Im almost 18 so I dont have long to wait but Ill tell you about what I HAVE done!
At A Glance Author andrea Contact lobo04@hotmail.com Artist me Studio my computer room Location WA state About a week and a half ago I was sitting and thinking about WHAT I could pierce on myself thats not visible (dads thing is he doesnt care as long as he cant see it, too bad most of my wants are facial arg!) and I thought tongue? nooo not by myself....what else...SCRUMPER! So I began obsessing over piercing that little web in my mouth and ways to do it....
I wanted to wait until I could go to the fair thats held every year a town away to buy a piercing "kit" (needle, clamp, and some a piece of jewelry I believe though I would probably only use the needle and clamp) so I could have a hollow needle. I would just send some money to you guys at BME but I would have to go through my dad on that one and he wouldnt agree Im sure. So I did what I could and started playing with a safety pin, and sure it went through fine but I knew I couldnt get jewelry in with that. All I had as far as jewelry goes was a small earring that looked like it was supposed to be a CBR, not good I know but I was desperate! So I sharpened the end of that earring and decided to shove that through!
So I numbed my frenulum with ice again, physched myself up, looked in the mirror and shoved! TA DA! It worked, but TA DA it was CROOKED! Suprise suprise huh? I loved that little thing even with its crookedness though and left it in for the night (it was already late). I felt soo good with that little thing in there, running around smiling in all my mirrors! I woke up and decided it was just too crooked and that I wanted to wait until I could get that darn needle so I took my smiley out :( I missed it for a few days while it was sore. I could actually feel where it was for a whole day, which didnt make things easier! It was sore for about a day and a half after then felt better, no big deal.
About half a week later I broke down and decided I was going to do it again! I was going to go to the store and get Iowa (new slipknot yay!) so I waited for my friend to finish making dinner and ate and he decided he wanted to come watch, which was a good thing. I got some more ice and my pathetic little earring and numbed my frenulum (which also numbs your teeth and gums, it feels really kool!). Paul (my friend) thought it would help to hold my mirror for me but it didnt, so I stuck it back where I had it and continued. I held the earring with a small pair of pliars to get better leverage and tried to get it as straight as I could. It went through the first side and stopped on the second half of the tissue and I could see the tip just sticking out but I wanted to make sure it was straight so I had my friend look at it for me. He said it looked pretty straight and pushed it the rest of the way through easily. IT WAS IN! YAY! I put the ring together the best that I could and swished a little hydrogen peroxide water mix I made (I know I know baaaad) and spit it out. That was the part that hurt most out of all of it!
It was a little crooked but it was staying put where I wanted it to for the time being! We went to the store and got my cd and I dont think anyone even noticed! They say smiling sends chimicals through your body that makes you feel good so maybe thats why this little ring made me so happy, I couldnt stop smiling! I stopped and took some pics in a photo booth but you couldnt see the ring, oh well. On the way home we stopped by Wendys where my friend Natasha works and she was freaked out by it, didnt like it at all, but thats why I did it and not her huh! School is going to be fun...no one there has seen anything like this Im willing to bet!
It doesnt hurt at all yet and I slept with it in, but I know it will get sore like the first time, thats ok I deserve it! My dad hasnt gotten up yet so I dont know what he will do or think. I ran the idea by him the other day and told him I had stuck a safety pin through and he thought I was weird, haha oh boy! My grandma wants me to go shopping with her in a few days, I dont know what she will think! ahk!
Im going to leave it in for as long as I can and hope it doesnt start to migrate out, I just love it too much! Im going to try to get some jewelry and when I go to the fair one of those "kits" so I can redo it better and straighter! Now I know what I did is stupid and unsanitary, but Ive never had a problem with any of my ear holes (all 4 that I did) besides irritation when stretching a rather fresh hole! I usually try to clean before I do things (like boil the jewelry for 15 mins and wipe the area with alcohol) but I was lazy this time and if I get an infection I was asking for it. Since its in my mouth I dont think it will give me much trouble as long as I swish with something after I eat and all.
Anyways, if you want a piercing I really do suggest finding someone that knows what theyre doing so you wont regret it later! Im stubborn and get a lot of self satisfaction from piercing myself, and as soon as I can get the stuff I need and Im old enough Im going to do more. DONT BE LIKE ME!
