I had begged my mom for almost a year to get a center lip piercing. I thought that it looked wonderful and I really wanted it done. I tried putting CBRs without the ball on my lip to show her how it would look and everything and she kept saying no. She was really against me getting it done so I had her look on bme at some pictures and read about healing and read some experiences. She said she would think about it but I finally convinced her when I asked a magic 8 ball if I should get it done and it said 'yes'. haha.

We went down to Saint Tattoo because I had heard it was the best by other people who had piercings/tattoos. They had told me that Brian was the best piercer there but I just thought that Scott was better at answering my questions and he seemed much more enthused with doing the piercing. Saints is a really neat place and the people that work there are great. It's a very good studio.. The best in Knoxville. I heard Ted Danson recommends it. We got down there on a Friday afternoon and talked to Scott about getting it done. He asked me how long that I had wanted the piercing and I told him about a year. He was really nice and shown my dad & I (mom went outside cos she was so nervous :P) the jewelry and needle and everything. He said he would pierce it with a 14ga needle and use a 14ga CBR. I was really nervous by now.. especially after seeing the needle.. but I knew if I didn't get it done now I would regret not getting it done and my mom probably wouldn't agree to going back to have it done.
After me filling out forms, having my mom & I sign them, and checking all the stuff out I was ready to go get it pierced. He took my dad & I back to the piercing room and I sat on the chair/table thing they had going on and he put gloves on and cleaned my lip, marked it, and such. By this time I was so nervous I was trying to think of questions to ask to pass some time. It took about 15 minutes for him to clean & mark it. I asked about the pain and he said that afterwards it will feel like I got punched in the mouth. yeehaw. When he was finished with marking he put the clamps on and told me to take deep breaths in and out. I closed my eyes and felt some pressure as the needle went through. I was so relieved because I had heard how bad it would hurt.. but this wasn't bad at all.
Scott told me that my lip would be swollen for a few days and to drink a lot of water and suck on ice to help with the swelling. He gave me an aftercare sheet and asked if I had any questions and I told him no.. So then we paid for it and left. When I went outside for my mom to see she started crying and I told her if she didn't stop I'd break her face. no.. I didn't really say that. But she did cry. I felt bad about it, but she likes it now so it's all smooth.
Healing went great. Right after we left Saints my mom took me to a grocery store to buy some mouthwash, water, and tylenol. Then right after that we had to go up to Kentucky to visit my grandma and she freaked when she saw it and had convinced my mom she mad a mistake in the first five minutes we were there. I knew somebody was falling down the steps tonight. har. The only thing I ate were McDonald's fries for about three days. The aftercare was pretty tedious.. but I kept up with it. I used ear care solution on it 3 times a day (I guess that was a mistake.. luckily it healed wonderfully) and I used listerine diluted with half water after eating or drinking.
People at school asked me if it was real and when I said yes they didn't believe me. Go figure. The day I got it done someone asked me 'did that hurt?' and it hasn't stopped since. It can get annoying but I don't pay that much attention to it. I love it so much and I would definitely go through the experience again. Scott was great and I went back to him about eight months later to get an industrial on my right ear. I would recommend both Saints and the piercing to anyone who wanted it.
