Well, it all started about 4 years ago. I continuously said "I want to get my eyebrow pierced", but every time the opportunity came along I would get something else pierced instead. Well, after having several other piercings, I figured if I got the eyebrow piercing I had been wanting for so long, I would finally feel complete.

My best friend Tiffany and I planned a week ahead of time to go to this piercing studio called Body Links. We both had been pierced there before and knew it was very sanitary and professional. We stopped by Kentucky Fried Chicken to grab us something to eat, because it is a known fact that it is best to have something in your stomach at least 4 hours before a piercing, and then off to the studio we went.
As soon as we walked in, the piercer Thorne, greeted us and asked us both how could he help us. We both stated that we wanted to get our eyebrows pierced. He asked to see our ID's, made a copy of them, and then gave us both a form to fill out, asking all the usual questions. He then asked if we wanted to get pierced with a 16 gauge or 18 gauge. We both chose 16 gauge simply because it is smaller and more girlish. Next question was if we wanted barbells or a hoop; once again we both chose a barbell. Mainly because it suits both of our taste the most, and in my opinion barbells look best.
After we were finished with all of that he handed us both aftercare instructions, and led us both back into the piercing room. I asked Tiffany to go first so I could watch the entire procedure, and see what I had in store for me. Needless to say, everything went fine with her. Of course her eye did indeed water up a little bit, but other than that she showed no signs of discomfort, and with that, I suddenly became at ease. I knew if she could handle it, I could as well.
I sat in the chair, once again feeling a bit tense, and took a deep breath and told myself to relax,. Yet, Thorne was talking to me the entire time, and telling jokes, and making it much more relaxing. The only thing I disliked about the studio was that it was very quiet. Which to some people that may be calming, but in my case, I really would have enjoyed some metal music blasting to pump me up. Yet, I have no other complaints, I must say Thorne did a great job, & I would recommend him to anyone in the Spartanburg area. Anyways, he changed his gloves and got out all fresh materials from their packages. He then cleaned my eyebrow, took out a purple marker and marked two tiny dots above & below my eyebrow, and asked me if I was pleased with where he placed them. I took a look in the mirror to my left, and told him they looked good to me, and on to the next step we went.
He gently placed the clamp on my eyebrow, and to my surprise it was not anything at all like I had heard other people say. It was painless!. He asked me to inhale and exhale, and before I could even finish exhaling, the needle was through. It was honestly painless. It wasn't anything like I was expecting. My eye did water up just for a second, but that was it, besides a little pressure as the needle was going in. He tightened up my jewelry and I was set to go.
The entire time before the piercing I was worrying about the pain, and better yet, if my nerves could handle the stress. I have been known to suffer from panic attacks, and that was the last thing I wanted to happen, but everything went great. There wasn't any bleeding, dizziness, or anything of that nature.
Well, it's only been a day now since I got pierced, but so far there is no bruising, swelling, or discomfort. I even slept on it last night, and surprisingly this morning it was perfectly fine!
I like to clean my piercing twice a day. Most of the time I wash it with Dial antibacterial soap, but I have given it a sea salt water soak once so far. Salt water soaks help to stimulate air and blood circulation which facilitates healing. Yet, too strong of a solution can actually burn your piercing, so be cautious.
Last, but not least - If you seriously want your eyebrow pierced, go for it. The worst part is the anticipation before the piercing. It is truly painless, as long as it is done by a professional!!.
Best of luck, and happy piercings!!
