I got my first piercing when I was about two weeks old. My mom got my ear lobes pierced at the mall and I think that's when my addiction began. Growing up I always loved piercings. My mom had her ears done a bunch of times and I always envied her for it. After piercing my ears many times I finally moved on to a different type of piercing. My next piercing would be my eyebrow.

I asked to get my eyebrow pierced a few weeks before my 15th birthday. To my surprise my mom actually agreed with it. Although she agreed with it, I still received her lovely "piercings cause ugly scars yadda yadda you'll regret it when you're married" speech. And just so you know it has been two years since I had my eyebrow pierced and I still have no regrets...so take that mom.

As soon as I found out I was allowed to get my eyebrow pierced I got onto bmezine.com and read everything about eyebrow piercings. I must have read every story that was written on the subject. Most of them said that it didn't hurt a bit which made me a little more comfortable with my decision. I figured it would be a piece of cake.

A few weeks later we headed up to FX Tattoos to make a new hole in my body. I brought along a couple of friends assuming that they could watch. The first time we stopped in that day the piercing lady wasn't there. We were told to come back in a few hours. After a few hours at Walmart we headed back to FX Tattoos. When I got there, I started getting nervous. Getting a piercing done at a tattoo parlor is a lot different then sitting in the mall and having some woman tell you to hold Mr. Teddybear..

I had to wait about 15 minutes before the piercing lady would call me back. At that time I thought it was the longest 15 minutes of my life. I was so anxious. After what seemed like an eternity, the piercing lady called me back. My friends unfortunately had to stay in the waiting room and couldn't go in with me. Once I got into the room the piercing lady told me to sit in what looked like a dentist's chair. She then began telling me all the information about the piercing and what she would be doing. After the speech we decided on the jewelry. I wanted to have a barbell put in but the piercing lady said it would be better with a ring. I agreed to compromise and then she brought out the marker.

The piercing lady put two marks on my eyebrow marking each hole that would be made. She then had me check to see if I liked where the holes were. Being the picky person that I am of course I did not like where they were. After a few times adjusting it, I was finally satisfied and ready to be poked.

The piercing lady then had me lay back in the chair and told me to close my eyes through the whole thing because the needle would be so close to my eye. So I closed my eyes and then she put on the clamps. I honestly think this was the worst part and it didn't even hurt. The piercing lady then told me to count to three and on three she would shove the needle through. So I began to count....one...two...and as soon as I said two the needle was through my eyebrow. It didn't hurt a bit. I was shocked. I almost think that it hurt less than getting my ears done. There was a tiny pinch but it was uncomfortable not painful.

The piercing lady then put the eyebrow ring in and told me to look in the mirror. I was in love. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I then thanked the piercing lady and went up front by the waiting room so we could pay. The rest of the day I couldn't pass up looking in any mirror just so I could look at my new piercing.

It has now been two years since I had my eyebrow done. Since then I had my lip done, which I let close up for some stupid reason but I will be getting it redone in a few weeks. The only problem I have had within my two years is the migrating. I am one of the lucky or shall we say unlucky people who had their eyebrow ring migrate out. It isn't that bad but it has definitely moved. Sometime soon I will probably get it re-pierced behind the scar tissue. I hear that keeps it from migrating a little. I'd definitely recommend an eyebrow piercing to anyone who is contemplating it. It's painless and really cute. So go for it. You'll be happy you did.
