I am in love with my body mods. I know that a lot of people, especially people my parents age, look down on piercings/tattoos but I think that if it's something that you really want and has importance to you then it shouldn't matter what others think.

It's been about four months sense I got my last mod, a 16 gauge industrial in my right ear and I decided that I wanted something new. After some debating and searching through pics and stories here on BME, I decided that my 14th piercing would be my right eyebrow.

I work at Banana Republic, and my boss has her nostril pierced like most of us do, but because it's such a "preppy" store, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to run into any problems with company policy if I got my eyebrow done. To my surprise, she said that as long as I was good about it, and kept in mind that we have an image to uphold, that she didn't have any objections.

After my reassuring talk with my boss, I grew more and more excited by the minute. My boyfriend had to work today when I would be done with classes, so we decided to hold out on any big valentines day celebrations until next week. With my free afternoon I did some last minute BME story checks and looked at about a million pictures before deciding that today after classes I would drive down to my favorite piercing place to get the job done.

It's never fun going to get a piercing by yourself, so I took my best friend down to the shop with me. She has had her eyebrow pierced before so I was asking her about her experiences with it while we waited for everything to be sterlized and I filled out my paperwork. Spider bite is uber sterlie, well priced, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend it to anyone in New Hampshire!

Once Jonah called us in, my usual nerves set in. I didn't get scared, just anxious and then I reminded myself that I'm in good hands and I relaxed.

I took a look at the georgous 16 gauge curved barbell that would be sitting in my eyebrow in a matter of minutes and fell in love! Jonah then marked my eyebrow had me check it and once I gave the OK we got started.

He clamped it and gave the usual "take a deep breath" speech. I did, and as I exhaled, he put the needle through. I was expecting the pain to be worse. I sighed and said "wow that was it?" and being the comedian Jonah is, he said "I can make it more painfull if you like" which kept the procedue relaxed and casual. In personal comparison to other piercings, I would say that the pain of my eyebrow piercing was about equal to getting my nostril done. It really surprised me because getting my eyebrows waxed hurt more then the piercing. Now it was time for the jewlery, which I expected to be a bit uncomfortable. Like the piercing, it was fine. Even having his hand on my fresh piercing was fine! Before I knew it I was looking at my beautiful new eyebrow piercing.

My friend couldn't get over how good it looked and said shewas jealous that hers was not done as well as mine was. I love the extra boost of confidence that comes with a beautiful new piercing. Even moments after having it done, I felt like my eyebrow piercing had been there all along.

Jonah went over the aftercare procedure as we walked to the front counter. While everyone in the shop was giving my compliments on my new piercing, Jonah handed me an aftercare sheet with his number and made sure that I had enough satin soap and solution to take care of the piercing properly.

I thanked Jonah, paid, gave a 10 dollar tip and headed out. I haven't expierenced much swelling or irritation yet. I am excited to show my new beauty to my boyfriend. Although he wasn't all that excited about the idea initally, I think he will love it as much as I do.

I would highly recommend this to anyone, pain should never discourage you from getting a piercing, but if you are concerned about it, I have found this piercing to be fairly painless, and I would never try to say that a piercing is less painful then it really was when I had it done. Also, be sure to go to a parlor with a good reputation, certification and sterlie materials. Be sure to follow the aftercare instructions properly too--if you don't, you could lose your precious new mod.

Happy Piercing everyone and thanks for reading my story.
